rikkir Will there be an option for the additional practice day like previous years? I'm keen to do an extra day...
I am happy to organize a day at another track. Marulan is keen to run a event at their track as a additional day for MTC. It was discussed last year but did not get around to making it happen.
It's not all about MTC16 he's making it a personal issue, as we have had a few choice words about few things. I was putting it under the bridge. I'm still paying for all my bad luck at mtc16. Was hoping to redeem myself and not have any problem for mtc17. Even planning to bring a lower kw car. Just to have some fun with out breaking anything. So let me know what I do? as It cost around $1800 to $2000 to do this trip and support this event, need to start saving now and reading the new car.
The key point of the decision is based on risk . The major point being, you almost killed someone last year, did not listen at any stage, as well as the problems you have created with your SA guys confirmed the fact you cannot join us in 2017. End of debate.

End of debate. Ultimately this is B24's event and his reputation hangs on his organisation of the event (with a little (lot) of help along the way). So in the end it's his call and his mind appears to be made up. If anyone wants to argue the toss please use PM's or start a stewards protest thread, this one is about MTC 2017.

I'm pretty sure that Highlander is leading the running of it this year, not B24. B24 does own the whole concept though. I'm very uncomfortable with banning people. We have had multiple issues like this in the MR2 community in the past and they never end well. I think that everyone deserves a second chance. As long as we set clear guardrails for behaviour at the event, there will be no issues.

^ Banning people isn't nice, I don't know what went down last year so I can't comment on it. It's not my show so I'll leave it to those who are in charge. The MR2 'community' in Australia is really strong, but not strong enough to have factions and breakaways trying to reinvent the wheel, like admin says - it usually ends up in a stinking mess. MTC has always for the most part been a fantastic way to get the most out of our cars, and when I have been there everyone in a Toyota showed really respectful track etiquette and everyone has had a good safe time. The black flag is always available if needed.

I am keen to come along with my aw11. But it needs a new roof and some door seals. Hopefully someone on here has these items so i can prep the car in time. Does it have to be all mr2?

Hi Barry, We usually have about 2/3 - 3/4 MR2's with a variety of others. What were you thinking of maybe bringing?

Current expressions of interest stands at 32 with some old faces and a number of new enquiries. The response has been great and with partiipants being capped at 50, we expect to be fully subscribed with places allocated on a first in (meaning registered and paid) best dressed basis. Will list names when we start to get registrations. Forms will be available within the next two weeks. People who have emailed an expression of interest to mtc2017@iinet.net.au will be personally emailed as soon as registration is available. Particularly relevant to those previous year entrants with other makes who may not frequent this forum.

As Shaz says, previous years have seen entrants from Holden V8s, Turbo Falcons, Skylines, Supras, Celicas, WRXs, Evos, Corollas, MX5s, Lotus, Focus, Holden Cruze just to name a few. Any makes prepared to be embarrassed on the track by 25-30 year old Toyotas are welcome to submit an application for entry.
