I don’t think these are really intended to be a replacement dash as such, while they have that option, I agree size is a factor. I wouldn’t want to use it as a tacho or speed gauge myself. But as far as monitoring vitals such as oil temp, water temp, afr, egt boost etc, I don’t think the size or the way they layout is going to be an issue for the weekend racers, or people with modified street cars.

The exception reporting is a good idea, you could have say just Oil Temp and Water Temp on the screen to make them larger and if oil pressure drops and triggers an alarm it could throw it up on the screen as well. It’s always something I can mention to them, they might add that kind of setup into a firmware down the track.

The v2’s are nearly done, so I would say they wouldn’t want to be making major firmware changes at this stage. The units beeping if a warning limit has been triggered will work for most people. And I know they have been playing around with the display format as well, so will just have to wait and see those changes when the sample arrives, might end up being more to your liking than how the v1’s display is setup.

I also got samples of proper sized race dashes, same size as the racepak. Unlike these 10in1 gauges though, they didn’t have the same level of practical function. I am still going to give these a try, but only if they address a couple of issues I told them about.

These dashes would sell around the $390 mark so close to double the price of the 10in1, they come with the below sensors and functions. They are also a wireless setup, so a control box goes into the engine bay and all the sensors connect to it, then it steams the data over Bluetooth to the dash in the car. Checked the samples for lag and it was pretty good.

These might be a good option for people that have done engine conversions and the dashes in the car aren’t functional.

RPM
Speed (Still waiting on feedback from the guys that got the samples how they got an input for this)
Volts
MAP
Oil Temp
Water Temp
Oil Pressure
EGT
AFR Input
Programmable shift lights.

The first issue was the AFR input only accepted 0-1v, so narrowband. I told them about it and they said they could fix it to read 0-5v.

Second issue was there was no warning alarm setup, I asked them about having it added, haven’t got back to me on that one though. I personally think the warning system is pretty important, the unit has a speaker in it, so it shouldn’t be too hard.

I have one of these in my car to test it and I love it!
You need an electric speedo sensor though as the cable one is too erratic for the dash to read.

For reference, the next comparable (priced) dash is the Race Technologies at around $900A
Bluetooth makes it easy as can be to install and mount the dash, and it comes with all the sensors (bar wideband) which is cool.

Got an email from the factory that the sample of the v2 gauge has shipped. :)

I am going to be away in NZ until the 22nd of Aug, but when I get back the sample will be here and I will do some testing and videos of the changes and updates to the gauge.

Samples arrived this morning, ready for me when I get back from NZ. Will post up pics and video when I get back.

The control box is a lot bigger, the EGT sensor looks much better as well. First impressions is it all looks good.

Back from NZ and got some time on Tue to bench test the v2 gauge, it’s exceeded my expectations so far. For now I will just post up this video I made for people to checkout. You can see from the vid some of the new features which are pretty good.

I am just waiting on an email back from the factory about when I can place my first order, but pretty sure the final units started production while I was away and are most likely ready to order now.

Will update thread with expected price and run over some of the new features once I hear back from the factory about ordering.

Also this sample unit is being sent off to an MR2 member on Monday for some advanced in car testing. It will be installed into a turbo MR2 and all sensors will be installed and tested, also cross referenced with the gauges / sensors already in the car to get an idea on accuracy.

Stay tuned. :)

If you're happy with the test unit, add me to the 1st order please.

No worries guy’s, will do. I will be getting a decent amount of them so don’t worry. :)

Being an MR2 owner and knowing a few of these would go to MR2 people, I noticed with the sample that the serial cable that runs from the sensor control box back to the screen was only 1.5m long, not long enough for us to install without having to lengthen the cable.

So I have asked them if they can supply my units with a 3m cable so we don’t have to chop and extend ourselves.

Another feature the video doesn’t show is serial daisy chain support. So you can link two of those screens together. I myself would find one of those screens enough, but they also make a range of really nice tacho’s with shift lights that can be chained into this v2.

These are a little small to be a good tacho, but the option is there to daisy chain a separate tacho with shift light in which I thought was pretty cool.

it may be stupid question but you need aftermarket ecu to make it work right

Not at all, it's completely independent of the ECU. :)

It will take the RPM source from the ECU, but that can be stock ECU or AM ECU. The rest all gets done from sensors supplied with the kit and fitted to the car.

Ok got a reply from the factory, the gauges are in production and ready for order, also got the pricing.

I expect the price for people interested to be between $200 and $215 depending on how cheap I can get the shipping on them, so that gives everyone a ballpark idea on price.

I am in the process now of making the first order, just working out some finer details with them such as getting my logo’s applied to the gauges.

Once the order has been placed and I have an ETA on the first shipment I will update in here. I will most likely make a new thread for the v2’s once they arrive so I can detail a bit more about their features etc rather than maintaining this thread on the v1 samples I was selling.
