Slight change of plans for this aw11 also, I'll continue rebuilding this smallport, but it wont be going into this aw11, will be going into my white one :-).
This one will be getting a full rebuilt 4age bigport put back into it.

So finally started pulling this 4age down for a full rebuild.
Have ordered & received nearly all parts.
Few more parts are heading off to the machine shop :-)

More to come!

Whilst waiting for some machine parts to come back, thought I'd a least make it a little nicer to look at when its finally rebuilt.

BEFORE:

After... looks new now :-)

Gave the block a quick hone, bores were in good condition, but were quite glazed over. Its currently in the machine shop being faced.

Phew, I thought there was a glitch in the matrix for a second there. Again looks good. You painting the lettering then masking it off for the rest of the paint?

 Nah, no masking at all.
All I did was paint the entire cover, then sprayed the lettering colour into a small jar, & painted on via brush x 3 coats.

Small update:

Got parts back from machine shop,

Installed the new bearings, place crank in, piston, rods, then found out the rod bearing were not the same size a smallport (4B1780), bigport are actually smaller in size, so I quickly hunted a set down & installed them (part no. reference: 4B1710 STD).

Now just waiting on some more time to finish this build off, hopefully be this coming long weekend.

Mike are you going to compete in this car down a WPC17 or the SW20?

Go soothingly on the grease mud as there lurks a skid demon.
