I have Falken 595 (not RSR) on the back on my Commodore and they are one of the worst tyres I have ever bought. They are diabolical in the wet and I have trouble taking off from lights with the car trailer hitched up to the Commodore - even with no race car on it!
A mate of mine also has the same tyres and has the same opinion.
It's possible that they are fake Falkens from China. They seem to be making and selling other fake car parts so why not tyres?

I just double checked - yes i have Falken FK452

I read many reviews about them and people were saying a great tyre

However I did buy them from TempE Tyres in Sydney - so maybe I have asked for trouble there - I do not know

I was looking at the 595 RSR

It boils my piss when I hear about Chinese copies of things that are in fact a safety item ( such as tyres ) as I manufacture personal safety equipment.

I have had dealings with Chinese companies and they only care about worshiping the $ or  Yuan actually - to them life is worth nothing if they can profit $1
\ALWAYS ALWAYS  the first thing out of their mouths is "how many you want"

where as the Taiwanese it would be "please tell us the specifications you need"

I had Falkens previously, they gave no warning before they let go. I've got Federal RSR's now which are far more progressive and a lot grippier.

I've had FK451s and 452s and they've been good. Only an issue now as the 451s are old, on the rear and dealing with above stock power. They spin up easily but the car is very controllable but vehicle is most likely a different set up to yours.

I have the exact same tyres Federal 595 SS on the rear of my Chaser. And they are the WORST in the wet/rain. No traction what so ever. Even trying to take off slow at the lights on a slight incline, it will spin the wheels almost every time.

It is very scary and really have the pay attention to the car while driving in the wet.
Dry is a different story, good enough drip to drive at a fast pace, but wet is like gliding on ice.

Haha.

For a good street tyre maybe look into RE003 or S001 from Bridgestone or Michelin PSS or PS3.
595RSR will wear out too quick (18,000kms?) and not the best in the wet either.

That sounds very familiar! The 595 is a terrible tyre. I do however love the 595 RSR though they throw a lot of rocks onto the inner guards and wrecks the paint. Ah the perils of sticky tyres!
