Update:

Well after an eventful MTC 2016, car ran faultless for the entire 3 days.

Fortunately, I too have seen the light being the mighty famous 2gr conversion, thanks to Peter for handing over his keys to his 2gr mr2.  After only a few laps I was sold!
Now I'm in the process of putting this little 3sge engine & gearbox up for sale, to help fund for its new heartbeat.. 2GR :-)))

Keep an eye on this build.

I warned you of the consequences before you had a drive.

Well done making the drive from SA to Wakefield, was cool to watch this getting around the track. GL with your 2GR swap, i suspect you will not regret it!

Small update:

Well in the mean time while its waits for its 2GR package, I purchased a Gen 3 3sge engine package for it so it doesn't get track lonely.
So here it is ready to be installed when I get the time.. hopefully over next few week ends.

Gen 3 3sge & gearbox

Thought I'd pull out the old radiator & replace with a new one.

Welcome new Mishimoto radiator & fan shroud :-)

Thought I'd mark out 'cut' for better air flow

Cut out inside of bonnet ready for its hole & air dam & bonnet pins.

More to come.

Sounds like you should have hung onto it a bit longer then...
Mishimoto radiator is a bit too good for a track car isnt it?

Yep, just getting it ready for the 2gr, one less thing to worry about.

Had some time over the Saturday to get some more done..

I started off removing the gen 2 body & boot harness, switched it over with the gen 3 harness.. so that's all done :-)

Removed & re-sealed up the sump.

Sealed up & new filter fitted

Exhaust shielding installed & final check over.

Loaded on dolly ready for installation

Done... Its back in home position.

Now to re-wire up electronic gen 3 instrument cluster & install exhaust, bleed everything, new fluids etc...
More to come!

Hey Eddie, unfortunately not yet, this engine install was just put in as an intrim so it can still be a usable track car, I hate cars sitting around incomplete :-)
