Sdub track car in the prepping...

Not normally like me, never owned an NA but the car came up for sale, & I couldnt leave it there.
This project is going to be a next to no budget build, something to give my track Adub a run for its money, I purchased it for next to nothing, engine requires rebuilding, plan to have it on the track in next month of 2.

Again, another 2 that has been defected, it will never hit Adelaide streets again, so that always help with the decision of prepping it for a dedicated track car.

Engines out already, interior stripped, will fit some light weight 17' wheels, decent racing pads / fluid, rebuild engine, install... hit the track asap.

More to come..

    What was the defect for?

Too low, suspension, oil leaks, front bar, exhaust dba, etc, etc.  I wouldnt even be interested in spending the $250 odd to book it in for the inspection required to clear it.

     Update:

Finally got around to stripping down the old tired 3sge engine...  Another one where someone has ran extremely low oil, or none at all.

Cylinder bores & pistons are in excellent condition - should hone up nicely.

Head looks ok, conrod bearing not so good - either is the crankshaft.

Clutch is in need of replacement.. new kit is one on its way, fly wheel has just been machine / faced.

New oil & water pump are on their way.

Will get the gearbox assessed, hopefully just need to install new axle seals & gear oil.

    More to come.

yeah, trying to have this ready for our next track day (mallala) in July.  Should be good competition for the Aw11.

    Quick update:

Started tearing it apart, removing lights, front bar, exhaust, etc..

Prepped the engine bay..... whilst it waits for it new heart beat. l

Then started on the interior, door skins, centre console, roof lining, carpet....

Out came the air con unit, evaporator, all ducting, any unwanted wiring cut out.

Cut a bit off the dash, installed the bear essentials, dash cluster & factory clock.

Fitted light weight 17' Work wheels, how it sits currently till I get all engine components back.

    More to come!

Jebus  Cli  Mike.  You are a mover an shaker !!!!!!!!
I really really like the light weight bits of string in engine bay.  Gives me BAD ideas.
You gotta get rid of that superfluous heavy looking ignition key though mate.
       Cheers.
