I pulled a 1:25 out of my old white Bathurst at the track, so a stripped out one should see at least a 24!  More than quick enough to sort out Evos/WRXs ;)

Update:

Engine lid resprayed, home made lid prop installed.

Side reflectors were missing when I purchased the car, made some out of 3mm MDF & carbon wrapped them for good looks.

Though I might as well fit a quick release hub, been sitting in my shed for ages..

At least made cleaning the window quick n easy.

All finished!

Loaded on trailer, ready for its wheel alignment.

Will get some kms on it tomorrow after wheel alignment, got a 3 day permit organised. should get aleast 400kms over the 3days.

Next:
trackday at Mallala on the 26th Sep 2015 :-)

I hope you're going to get those front tyres fitted the correct way around...

Good job Mike to get it this far so soon.

Tyre direction wont matter in the dry and in track cars its a good idea to rotate the tyres if not racing in the wet. The Yokohama website has sound good info on this type of stuff.

I rotate my tires for same reason as stuka has mentioned. We don't often race in the wet.

I don't think it'll make much difference on the track lol

Well.... just ran car for 150kms, didnt miss a beat, parked at work, a quick check / inspection, no leaks... all looks good so far.

Even though its running in, man the throttle response is smooth & it does feel like it wants a dam good flooging... hard to resist, but I will.

That's pretty similar to my set up but mine don't look as chunky. What tires are you running?

Update:

Well after an eventful MTC 2016, car ran faultless for the entire 3 days.

Fortunately, I too have seen the light being the mighty famous 2gr conversion, thanks to Peter for handing over his keys to his 2gr mr2.  After only a few laps I was sold!
Now I'm in the process of putting this little 3sge engine & gearbox up for sale, to help fund for its new heartbeat.. 2GR :-)))

Keep an eye on this build.
