1.15.2 at wakefield today. on bald economy tyres.. reallly should have changed those.
1.17 was on the same grade tyre but had more tread and that was with a four banger. 2 second improvement with the v6. im relatively happy. im aiming for under 1.10 with exactly the same set up and better tyres.
slipping all over the place today. i think i need some bigger wheels too. 160kmph powersliding!!

Under 1.10 is a very quick time vinny. Might be a bit optimistic without any other upgrades. B24 is doing 1.08's and his car is mental. But of course I'd be happy to see you prove me wrong!

well the race specialist tehre has a stock standard turbo mr2 with some good tyres (not even slicks) and he said he can get 1.05 and averages about 1.07/08.
i know 1.10 is a bit optimistic but some good tyres should knock off a least 2 seconds and i know three areas on the track i can improve upon. the first kink and corner. the left hander before the top box and the back straight.
if i get all of those right i should be loosing about 1 second on the first corner. 2 seconds on the second section and about 1.5 seconds on the third section.

good. i dont need 2nd gear as much and my third gear pulls heaps well. gear ratios couldnt be better for wakefield. high redline woudl have made it terrible if i lost my midrange. before id be struggling because i woudlnt know whether to go 2nd or third gear. cuz 2nd id come out on red line while third would be just out of my powerband. now its just constant powerband =D

That's the problem I found with my AW11 at Wakefield.

nah fish hook and the last corner is still 2nd gear. the last corner i would like a bit more rpm cuz im pretty much on redline through that one.
going through the 2nd last bend on wakefield is bloody scary though!. usually at about 130 kmph flat out im sliding all four wheels sideways. you just watch the ripple strip coming closer and clsoer and theres nothing you can do except keep your foot down and pray you dont slide too far.

If you're at the top of 2nd coming out of the final corner you could probably do it quicker in 3rd. When I was driving the Focus I used to use 2nd gear but I had an instructor take it for a spin and he never went below 3rd. Even for the fish hook. It feels slower but it allows you to plant the gas early and the lower revs makes it easier to stabilise the car and you can get a higher cornering speed. I tried his technique and making that 1 change alone saved me 1 sec.
