Hey Rick. The tight right hander on the hillclimb looks to be peeling the left rear tyre off the rim. You are obviously getting bloody good grip. Thanks for the photos. No one else seems to have put any up. What pressures are you using front and back? Trade secret??

I hadn't actually looked that closely at the pic. It certainly does look like it was almost off the rim. I'm pretty happy with the Federal RS-RSR's. Rear grip is excellent, I'd like to improve the front and reduce the understeer a bit though...

Regarding the tyre pressures. Your hot pressures seem about right. But maybe there was no heat in them when you attacked the hill. Lakeside track up here can be very grippy. I have seen tyres peeled off the rim. But usually heavier cars.

I was running a cold pressure of 33 psi front and 35 psi rear with my RS-RR's on the advice provided by my suspension guy.

What were the hot pressures then? Seems like they would be a bit high, but tbh i haven't really got a clue... I just hit the track and hope for the best lol. Is there anyone on this forum that has any recommendations on tyre pressures for the track?

I ran RSRR at 32 hot on all four. It was ok. I don't think I would go any less.

Yeah, I think the fronts need to come up a bit, hopefully it'll reduce the understeer I was having...

As with the pressures Knightrous is using, rears should always be around 3-4psi more than fronts for an MR2.

I never got around to playing with pressures at the event, so I'm not sure what they were hot. The car was nice to drive so I didn't fiddle with it.

There's science and stuff surrounding this... Nitrogen + 32/36 on street tyres, Nitrogen + 24/27 on R888s. Negligible temperature difference after rounds. 'Air' + 32/36 ended up at 39/44 (overheated) after one session... Things like sidewall thickness (ply), composition, etc. will all play their parts.

I found my A050's were happy at 30psi all round hot. Any higher and they became slipery.
Ive also been experimenting on dropping the left side tyre pressures down by 1-2psi on tracks with more right hand corners. So far i have noticed a small improvement .
However these are not street tyres obviously.... its trial and error really
