Ive got to say I'm i little happy this thing is now in Qld, I hope to see it sometime in the near future. Who do you use for your tuning?

Registration was finalised today! Only went for a short drive to the transport office but it put a big smile on my face :) #1 priority at this point is to remove the RCA's as they make the car feel very strange on corner exit especially when you get on or off the throttle! Also sometimes the throttle sticks closed but I believe this can be easily by adjusting it's close point. Someone had a similar issue with a 3sgte in a celica that fixed it so fingers crossed! Apart from that everything is great, so good to be on the road again. 5SGTE Ive got to say I'm i little happy this thing is now in Qld, I hope to see it sometime in the near future. I haven't decided on a tuner yet, got a couple of options I'm looking at but I'm open to suggestions. Hopefully someone who's played with 3sgte's and water/meth injection and is good with an Apexi Power Fc.

Do a little research into Matty Spry at PITS (Performance Injection Tuning).

Do you still have the tabs in the rear? Many of us have shaved it off which eliminated most if not all rubbing.

Where are the tabs located? I'll have to have a look and check Had a look and the tabs are still there, removing them wouldn't be enough unfortunately, the rubbing extends past the tab to the top inside of the phoenix rear addons!

So I've been driving the car for a week now and I'm loving the extra power of the turbo :D Peak boost has been 17PSI but this rarely happens. Most pulls will get to about 13-15PSI and significant boost isn't really building till around 4k RPM. I'm new to the whole turbo thing so correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure the boost characteristics are due to not having a boost controller installed. I have a manual boost controller ready to go but I wasn't sure how smart it would be to just put it on without also retuning the car so I've held back. Handling wise I took the car up Mt Nebo/Glorious and got a really good feel for the current setup. Basically the car handle nothing like I've come to expect from an MR2. Very unstable in the rear and I had no confidence carrying any speed in the corners. I was sure the RCA's were the cause and took the rears out during the week. I wanted to get the fronts out but they were on so tight I snapped tools trying to loosen them up! But even just taking the rears out has the car feeling much more stable :) Next on the list is removing the the wheels and suspension for some much needed attention. The wheels are pretty banged up and there's a leak on one of the rear coilovers :(

Shave the tabs & it'll probably be acceptable.

Action shot from the weekend :) Getting some track time was great, going in I was unsure if I would have any issues with the heat soak that everyone mentions with a side mount setup but the Berk intercooler really did its job, especially with the hot weather we've had this weekend. Obviously a day on the track has left me wanting more power but what I really need is a bigger set of rotors! Fade set in pretty quick so I know what I'll be spending on next. I'm thinking the Delta V setup over the later model OEM option :) Gotta get some more MR2's out to these events!

Installed a new head unit and DIN gauge pod today. The black head unit looks much cleaner then the old silver one. Just need to relocate the AFR to the centre of the pod and it'll be done, I'm sick of dealing with wires for a few days though haha! I'm also planning to relocate the boost gauge to the stock location so I will no longer need the A pillar pod. Tossing up between analog or digital style atm, whats everyone's preferences? I'm thinking digital would be easy to read at a glance but the analog would look more stock...

Analog is cool to look at but as you say digital easier to read. Therefore analog for street only and digital if you frequent track days...

I have both electronic digital & analog boost gauges in my mr2's. Personally - I prefer the electronic 45mm analog gauge in the factory boost location (in the instrument cluster). Super easy to install, clean looking & you dont have to go looking where to install a new gauge. I also find a little delay with my digital gauge verses my analog one.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm leaning towards the digital at this point. I'll post up some pics once its installed!

Finally got the Work Equips off so they can get cleaned up! The Work Emotion's are now doing their duty, here's some before and after snaps! 17 inch Equips 18 inch Emotions The tires are shot on the equips so now that I have fresh tires on the car I expect to see an improvement on the road :)

Installed the KW V3's today and got rid of the front RCA's which I broke a tool on last time I tried! The car feels fantastic, just like an MR2 should :) To anyone considering installing RCA's I'd suggest you stay away, they changed the geometry for the worse in my experience.

Did you have RCA's and matching relocated tie rods? or just RCA's? If not both that will be the reason it felt off.
