My sincerest apologies to everyone who has posted here and PM'd me, I had no idea the thread would receive such a response and it was originally posted as an EOI. That said, while I was gone I actually caved in and bought a BMW 135i in Perth which I take delivery of next week once it's been transported to Sydney.. so I'm now in a small hurry to sell the MR2. Yesterday I re-connected the battery and took the car for a spin to make sure things were in order and have found two issues: - visible split in silicon hosing which is leaking boost (these silicon hose connectors can be bought for roughly $20 each)
- the driver's side window needs to be guided by hand for the first 10cm when going up, otherwise it tries to go up on an angle. I'm not sure what the reason for this is as I'm unfamiliar with the mechanism, someone else may know better than me. The motor itself is fine, I think it's the regulator which guides it up?
To clarify on the dash, the entire instrument cluster was swapped by the original owner of the car as the original JDM one only goes to 180km/h but the Australian one goes to 260km/h. The car is an original JDM gen3 hardtop turbo, not a conversion.

Jay, I know :( But I just can't justify keeping it. I'm not as passionate as I used to be and I can't motivate myself to maintain it like I used to.. I've seriously only been driving it to ensure the engine stays alive, rather than taking it out for fun spirited drives like I used to. I will miss it dearly, but hopefully it goes to someone who will actually have the time and passion to enjoy it, cause it definitely doesn't deserve to be hidden away under a car cover for months at a time.

Thats a very cheap price. Too cheap in my opinion. You should really be asking atleast $16000 and take your time selling it.

Still for sale guys, make an offer if you're interested otherwise it's going to Gumtree and Carsales, but I'd really rather have it go to an MR2 enthusiast on here. Has to go, my new car has arrived. The alternator died 2 weeks ago and it's currently with a performance workshop having it replaced, along with the split hosing replaced which should sort out the boost leak.

BUMP! Now on gumtree. If you or anyone you know is interested, please make an offer. The price is negotiable and I'm very much open to reasonable offers, I just need it gone, can't have 3 cars sitting here.

I agree, I'm selling my engine for 5.5k which comes with a bunch of spare parts and still these idiots continue to low ball me! Seriously no idea. Best of luck to the seller of the hardtop.

Honestly, I'd love a lot more for it.. however I need to get it sold in the next few weeks as I need the money. That said, since posting this 2 months ago I've had barely any interest at all. Only 3 people have contacted me about it and of them only 2 have come to see the car. I'm sure there's people out there who would love the car and who are willing to pay a decent price for it, but I don't know how to find them to be honest. Carsales is next to useless. I've posted the car on a few forums and now Gumtree. It's devastating how little interest there seems to be. Someone's probably going to get it for a VERY good price at this point. It really sucks to have to do it but I really expected either this one or the other one ('97 Bathurst) to be sold by now, and I really need the money. Not a single person has enquired about the Bathurst despite it being on carsales and numerous forums. I'm guessing no one even wants to look at it because it's got such high kilometres and needs some attention, despite the engine being in perfect condition.

I feel bad now. Sorry Morris! Was reconsidering (so want) but found out I might have to move due to work which would involve me selling my current one.
