Thanks Tree, I'm long past my P's lol, but i too want something different, so i'm definitely leaning towards Beams.
Have you regretted your choice at all? Have you considered any upgrades or changes since?

Lucky find voodoo, was it from a celica or mr2? Did you have any troubles with the conversion?

Yeh lucky find indeed! and yup my one is from an MR2, thats the main reason why i couldnt say no to it. we had a few little wiring issues during the install and due to the fact the car was off the road for so long and i had missed too many track days already we ended up scrapping the OEM ECU wiring and installing a haltech ecu in the car which solved all our issues

My only regret was leaving my car to an incompetent mechanic (mostly dad's fault lol)
V6 would be nice but for the hassle it just isn't worth it. If I had a Gen 2 turbo chassis then I may have leaned towards V6 only because it is a better base to build on: gearbox, axle etc
I'm quite happy with the stock motor, it does lack a bit of power but makes up in the handling and driving feel department. Upgrade wise a better exhaust system, custom cold air intake using K&N Apollo would've been dainty. I have koni yellows with RSR Race springs which improved body roll and rebound but the spring rates are still on the soft side (to me) and bump adjustment would've been useful
My next upgrade will be a new car but that's a secret ;)

That i wouldnt be able to tell you, haltech was nice enough to send one of their guys out to do all the wiring for me and then i left it in the hands of my mechanic to take car of the tuning

Im biased pretty much.

I love the Beams and now i love it even more.
323 RWKW's with N/A response is great. The way it darts is so inviting.

Whilst I do appreciate your car Mandalay & I'm not sick of you at all (please do update your thread). I have 4 words for you: Area under the curve

Turbo for life! Congrats on joining the 300 club. You're in good company.

Back on topic, I think the Beams is a great motor & you'd do well with such a conversion. I'm 3SGTE biased though & personally think a responsive 250rwkw 3SGTE is about as reliable & well rounded as it gets.

11.96 @ 116mph (with 228rwkw)
