kameleon The current TRW's will never fade no matter how many laps you do but i would put them in the very dusty category. Thats why they are so good without noise.
It's good to know that my TRW pads are dustier than most. It certainly doesn't take long for my front wheels to get filthy, even after only a few days of street driving. When I'm choosing new pads I can now be confident that they won't be any more dusty than what I'm used to. kameleon Stick with what you have Rob, your car will drive home after a great two days of racing as it did last time. Enjoy the event;)
Adrian Exactly right Trav! Just run what ya brung. Will be awesome fun regardless of what gear you have on the car. The last track day I did was on $300 Chinese tyres and it was a fantastic day. I'll be using them at MTC for the drift sessions :)
Cheers guys :-) I would struggle to find some second hand 17 inch wheels with the correct fitment in less than 3 weeks anyway (they would have to fit perfectly, so I could easily swap between them and my current 18s). It's something that I can consider after MTC 2015, and hopefully by then my driving will have improved enough to make semi slicks more worthwhile lol. As you said, I'll just stick with what I have, knowing what to expect from the car after the last event, and I'll try to smash my previous laptimes by just driving harder and better. I'm guaranteed to enjoy myself no matter what :-D The last few pages of this thread now have heaps of great info and advice that other people can take onboard too!

That's great news Chris. I think we may end up at 40 the way we are going but that is the maximum. I have a spare helmet you can borrow. Will dig it out this week.

Is it bad to be thinking constantly about the track challenge on Christmas day?

Hopefully somebody talented will be able to use the footage from everbodies cameras to put together a feature video. I'll happily provide my files to anybody that might want them.

No, no guilt there! I'm doing the same but not for car prep! I have decided to tow my car to the trackday for the benefit of Kazumasa-san. It will not be running but at least its there. You never know, it may be ready one of these days!

I had another entry over Christmas, Ian and Adrian have also stated they will be there so we have the 35 entries I was hoping for. Excellent turn out of MR2's. A great way to start 2015 for any MR2 owner. One of volunteers who helped out with traffic at the hill climb will be competing in 2015 so I will need someone to manage traffic during the Hillclimb on the Monday morning from 9 am till 12pm. There are a few people coming along for to photograph on the Monday but need some more for the Tuesday. Any takers??

We will be there again for the third year in a row. Just a little bit of work to do but this is one event you just don't miss if you have an MR2. Great event, safer and cheaper than one traffic penalty for "spirited driving". Finally fixing the gearbox oil leak which has plagued this car since its first track day. Turned out to be a badly torn input shaft seal which I think could only hace been damaged at installation. Slight issue in that you have to completely dismantle the gearbox to get at this seal. Probably why my "built" gearbox was installed and delivered to me in this condition. Bonus too. Found a second magnet and a second linkage bush "inside" the gearbox. Was hard trying to find out where these go from reading the BGB and exploded parts diagrams. Taken the opportunity to add upgraded CRW axle cages at the same time.
