Rick- stock standard cars are the best to start with! I ran mine for about 10 track days before touching a thing. You'll have enough to learn without trying to deal with 700hp or stupidly grippy tyres. Having low grip and power will teach you to maximise what you have for fastest corner exit speed which is where it counts. If you want a cheap lid, go to a motorcycle helmet place like this one --> http://www.mcas.com.au. Open face from $60, Aus Standards approved and all that. Get someone there to help you pick the right size. And try a few different brands as they all have a slightly different shape. You'll look like an idiot, but walk around to shop for 10mins with the helmet on to test for comfort. My A050s are on a set of 7and 8 inch wide 15 inch rims I got off highlander. Same ones I had at MTC. Rear tyres have 1 track day left. Fronts have heaps left. Love these tyres. Just killer. GTR rims are now my street wheels with the cheapest available tyres to recoop cost of a050s lol. Steve, not sure I can do a 9 haha. Probably low or mid 10 would be the limit. Could possibly be done on a set of Hoosiers or slicks but maybe not with semis. Or gimme some NOS!

Thanks for the advice Adrian. Unfortunately i live 100s of kilometres from anywhere that sells helmets, so i'll have to see what i can arrange online.

No Ken you have to go! Even if you cant bring the car just come up with trav or tree. Then you have to eat the burger as punishment for not bringing the car lol.

I thought i had a long drive, but you'll have double. I'm travelling from Ceduna, so if you drive over we could travel together from here....
Yea ill be keen yea i think i estimated it at 3800kms from where i am so about 3days solid driving with minimal rest. i was going to do it this year but i buggered it up and move house and lost my job so in the end couldn't get the car back together in time and its been sitting around ever since. but next year shall be different!

Its about 2000 kms from here, but I'm going to do it over 2 days. I don't want to be exhausted when i get there. I'll probably spend an extra couple of days in NSW before i head back too.

i see well if you like we can set a date and time to meet up i can adjust my time to suit if need be. i dont think ill be spending to much extra time given that i requires more time and distance for me to travel but we shall see car might break down and i might need to freight it back who knows.
