Re:why are SW20's refered to in this way?

ah, i remebered the susp and brakes where upgraded on the rev 2, but not the body styling.
i know the rev2 wiring is more similar to rev3 than rev1.
its almost as if they were ready to release the rev3 with engine etc, but had a whole lot of rev1 rear wings, tail lights and gen2 motors left to use up first......lol.

To throw another spanner in, the AW11's are confusing too. I see a few AW10's listed as AW11 whilst many parts aren't interchangeable but the chassis is the same.
Add even more confusion to SW20's because the final 98 Aus delivered MR2's have the same final revision body parts, but the older motor compared to Japan. Then the yanks throw in their 5SFE NA's all the way through to 94 & their 94 facelifted turbos with Gen2 engines :) Love it!

I have only once ever seen an AW10 listed in australia. I hope your not refering to the series 1 AW11 as an AW10. because if you were doing that that would be incorrect. the AW10 was the one that came with the 3ALU only. All 4age mk1 MR2's were AW11's aren't those 5SFE mk2 Sdubs not an SW20, aren't they actually an SW21? or something like that

I've def seen more than one 3A MR2 for sale. Referenced as AW11 on the add. As for the SW21, technically correct by chassis code but even more confusing. Keep in mind though, the MK2 Deuce lasted longer than any other MR. 1989 to 1999 so naturally quite a few revisions. What else lasted that long?

lol, it's all confusing to me. I just know AW11, SW20 & Spyder. I know mine's a 1990 SW20 MR2 non-turbo, I take it to the mechanic & say, ok it's due for a service & leave it at that. Altho I might ask a few questions here first next time. The other thing I have been wondering about is ADUB, SDUB, etc. What does that stand for? It's probably a dumb question, but hey, if ya don't ask, ya don't find out, lol
