DEFINITELY get coilovers man. I'm supidly happy that my car came with them. They take ages to get everything right (height rebound etc) but well worth the effort! and as you mentioned you can customise the height for the optimum look.
Nothing like the adjustability of coilovers, I still wonder about their legalities but when I spoke to a reputable company that sounds like edders they mentioned that they are legal as long as the ride height is ok.

rims - Adam is selling some nice ones off his car on the forums.  Are you doing the dent pushing yourself? I need to do one bit on my car.
Oh nice I'm keen to check those wheels out, was those the chromolium ones? They would suit my sw20 to a tee (i think thats the expression).

DEFINITELY go aftermarket seats - they make the car feel really exotic! if u can afford it get leather too hehe.
As long as I could get a decent set of ADR approved seat rails there should be no worries at all. I am not too sure about these "Bride Style" replica seats that keep coming up, i'm sure the quality can't be as good as the genuine parts, but if they weren't adr approved then they couldn't be recommended for Australian Roads.

Also car mats are a good investment to cover carpet holes.  I have car mats in my car (and a second rubber mat under the drivers side to protect the carpet) :) and you can always sell them when you sell the car :)
The Mats is a good idea but I think I would still feel the hole in the carpet as the material is quite thick in that area. The second rubber mat is a fantastic idea, I hate how some floor mats limit your ability to mash the accelerator to the floor :(

Well I've found a new motor to put in, but I think the motor may be specced a bit too well for my needs, nevertheless I will find a way to get the supporting mods required to make it work.

I've been debating which ecu to use at the moment, i'm hoping to get something plug and play but unfortunately this never ends up working out haha.

I'm still also trying to work out how I can get this engine conversion all done legally if i would require an engineers certificate.

Not too much has happened over the last few days. I have been cleaning out all the sills and I have started prepping the paint for getting resprayed eventually.

Here are some photos of the clear coat peeling:

I need to get a fuel cap for it asap too.

Here was the worst of the clear fading. I was able to remove the oxidised paint from the surface but its just not the same as a fresh coat of paint.

I tried to start the car yesterday with my new century battery but the immobiliser/alarm kicked in and I didn't know the keypad number to disable it. I have the pin now so I should be able to get it going asap. I'm still not sure if I will end up keeping the alarm in there, the keypad gets annoying after a while.

I'll be off to Richmond tomorrow to get my new motor. Super Excited.

Awesome thanks heaps for that.

The specs on the motor are very nice indeed:
Its got a set of 272 degree cams, Cosmetic HeadGasket, ARP Head Studs, HKS Cam Gears, bored out fuel rail, 650 cc injectors. I am still awaiting the turbo which should come in due time as well. Those specs may stay hidden for a bit longer lol.

Thanks man :) I need to somehow get the motor off the trailer. Haven't quite figured out that part yet lol. I'll probably go pick up a engine hoist today.

Today was a busy day indeed.

I went to Richmond to pickup my new motor from ToyMota, thanks again mate it was an awesome drive. I appreciate your help today.
The motor has had the head rebuilt not that long ago, its sporting some fancy hks cam gears which look awesome as well as a set of 272 degree cams, sard injectors and a set of ARP head studs.

I was able to borrow my gf's dads Avalon and Trailer. On the way back I picked up some other goodies too :)

I have new photos of the interior now. I absolutely love this Marino Deep Dished wheel. Once i've got some new seats in it will be an awesome driving experience.

Yesterday I went to pickup a second hand engine hoist, I got a heavy heavy duty one which is able to lift upto 2 tonnes which is fantastic.

I took it apart and put it in the camry which it fit in JUST. They are very frustrating to put together on your own though lol Breaks your back.
The pair of wheels are on (mind you I only got a pair so i'll be keeping an eye out for another 2 :) My how I hate 4wd spec :(

When I got home I remembered that I forgot to buy a chain for the engine hoist, so my only option was to use those blue straps that was holding the engine in place on the trailer. They state "DO NOT USE TO LIFT" so I used 2 instead of one hahaha. I don't recommend this as they can loosen and it will drop.

I tried starting the car and realised the immobiliser came on the second I put the battery connection on. Ever since I had the car the drivers side window has always been up so it was great being able to close up the car when I wash it :)

Then when I went to crank it over I realised there was no spark plug in cylinder 4 doh :( It was making all sorts of farty noises but it did start on only 3 cylinders which is a good thing too :). It won't be long till this motor will be removed in place of the beast.

My floor carpet on the drivers side has well and truly worn, its actually gone through to the chassis lol

This car so far has been the most exhilarating self created project ever.

Thanks mate :)
I have coilovers and a gen 3 gearbox on the plans too so it won't be long at all.

Its amazing looking at it from its original beginnings that it just needed a bit of tender loving care.

Looks like it coming along nicely.

Would love to have space you must have to work on and store your cars!.

Didn't know NA's came with cruise control either. Its a feature I would love on my Mr2.

Thanks mate much appreciated :)

I was nice and busy this afternoon and got started on stripping the motor all ready for the new 3sgte to go in.

The fuse box needs to be separated so that I am able to separate the body loom (which will be replaced with the turbo 3sgte body loom) and the 3sge engine loom. This is always a headache to get to.

I got around to moving the stock muffler out which wasn't too bad. All this is coming back to me from my previous MR2 turbo conversion.

Lots of space for the new muffler and mid pipe once the motor goes in. The Non turbo mid pipe will need to be removed at some stage too.

Here I am trying to remove the ECU but the boot lid stay mechanism on the right is not working so I had to improvise :)

Goodbye 3sge ecu, you served me well for the 1 week i've owned you so far :)

I was super happy to have dismantled the engine loom out of the fuse box as pictured below.

Main body loom disconnectted as well as the throttle cable in this photo

Tint job On this side was completed this afternoon. Not too bad for $35 worth of tint that I got from Protint.com.au

This week will involve stripping out more of the engine. I really need to get the Garage clear so I can concentrate on this car a bit more
