Vague ominous title

Misleading and vague sentence about a guy's living address

Seriously, what's with these posts lately? Feels like MR2 Australia is turning into some sort of serial killer's scribble pad

Dunno what the purpose of it is, some twonk is finding it entertaining. It must be some bot doing automated logins, there's been a few more that have been deleted.

I did see this article going around - http://jalopnik.com/45-million-accounts-hacked-at-some-of-the-biggest-car-f-1782030203. But I doubt it's affected us, the worst I've seen is this nugget-head going around making stupid posts. Still, it's something to be mindful of I think

No hacks here guys. All good.
These weird post are real people, as bots cannot log in due to Capthca.
Dudeman and I have implemented some changes today that should help to reduce these even further.

What kind of captcha is it (I haven't needed to re-register, so haven't seen it).  Is is possible that new bots are able to inconsistently defeat the Capthca?

I'm not sure what type it is though it is configurable. I suppose it is possible for bots to get past it though ocr is pretty hard when the image is dodgy.

I only ask as I recall reading a paper / description of how someone wrote a bot to defeat a captcha and flood an online American Bible belt "Anti-Gay" or "Anti-Abortion" petitions with comments and signatures from their opponents.

I was curious as to how far bots had come since then, since some of the captcha's getting more advanced (e.g. ASIC Company search - although they are a higher value website).

I checked the settings, and they were very basic. I have set them so they will be more difficult for bots. I can make it harder than this though I don't want to make it too hard for humans.

Seems like these posts are starting to happen a bit more frequent again of late, is it possible its someone making these posts and not bots?

It's a person or group. They started this thread with a bit more effort than the others https://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=133414#133605

I really don't know what borat hopes to achieve with the posts. Hopefully they make get bored with us and go annoy a nissan forum instead.

Datsun = Good, Nissan = not as cool.

We're going to click the ratchet up another notch to try and dissuade borat from coming back again.
