FS: MR2 SW20 Race Car Polycarbonate Rear Qtr Windows
For Sale MR2 SW20 Polycarbonate Rear Qtr Windows to suit Race Car These are rear quater windows to suit a SW20 MR2 and were custom made by Plastic 4 Performance (UK)
They are 3mm Lexan / UV protected Polycarbonate which I had optioned black borders and also 'Porsche style' vertical cutouts (see below picture) to allow air inside the cabin to vent out. If you had a flat window, the air coming in from blower fans, naca ducts, windows ect has to get out, and from the rear of the cabin, from factory the rear qtr windows has that triangle vent, however if you replace with flat plastic with no holes it will create alot of drag.
Basically these would only suit a race only car. They are not a OEM quality fitment and they will require a little trimming down of the polycarbonate window to fit nice, fitment my be glued on or typically few pop rivets.
Being polycarbonate they will not crack like perspex if drilled, pop riveted hard or bent a little and are really easy to trim.
These have not been installed and still have the protective plastic covering.
What about water? Well same problem all Porsche race cars have and most race cars that arnt waterproof, water will get in but not a big deal however dont park outside in heavy rain, if you do cover it up, if the car will be outside in the rain for a bit like on display or when washing the car cover window with tape or clear contact ect.
Factory Window: 1249 grams per window (without triangle vent or vent tub)
Polycarbonate with cutouts: 421 grams per window
