WTB STAGE 2 CAMS/spings/valves
doing a little side project,
want to build a head in my downtime so im atm looking to buy a set of HKS/BC cams not to fussed, just one step up from stock, 262/264 durations. no higher as i want to be able to use the stock ecu to run them until i get a ecu and a tune to get the most potential out of them,
also interested in doing a stock or small oversize valve job, and also wouldnt mind some heavier duty springs,
mainly i want some cams and springs, not to fussed on the valves.
let me know what you got/can get money waiting. will need postage to wallsend 2287 nsw

Stock ge is 244, turbo is 236.
But imho just go straight to 264, or look for some gen3 ge cams.

the advice to use stock gen 3 cams in a gen2 head, is not 100% sound. these later cams have different acceleration profile and need the larger diameter bucket if they are to be long-lasting. Therefore, such a change needs to go with gen 3 shim under or shimless buckets the main reason to install longer duration/higher lift cams is to move the torque point upwards which means higher revs are needed to amke the extra power. rarely, if ever, do factory springs work with modified cams. You should always buy a spring suited to the cams

interesting, i didn't think the std gen3 cams would be that aggressive compared to aftermarket items of similay lift but longer duration that are advertised for the gen2 head. are the gen3 ge valve springs different to gen3 gte or gen2 ge springs? much of an upgrade?
