No such thing as a legal HID system in an MR2. I've been looking at the Pegasus as well for a while now. The just have beams that shoort straight down the road and not up to the side. Which would be the wrong side if it did as they are for right side road driving. If you decide to get some let me know how you get on?

Are you sure there is no such thing? I was doing research on it when I had the R32 because mine had the brick style and not the projectors, and WA legislation states that, any car fitted from factory with H.I.D and also any car with adjustable projector headlights are legal..not too mention I changed the R32 headlights to the projectors and passed the pits with 8000K H.I.D units installed, they didn't have a problem with them.

The reason I'm looking at these are the simple facts that the factory headlight units are too old and not bright enough anymore, and I detest the low-rise quad style headlights

in order for HID's to be legal they MUST comply with ADR's. in order to do that they MUST had a self leveling mechanism. hence why any factory car is legal with them as they are all self leveling. None of those Norcal ones are self leveling so they will be illegal. Pretty well, a legal setup will cost you over $1000. Plus50 globes with new 5"x7" semisealeds will get a good result if your old ones are dim.

As I have found out, passing the pits and legal is not necessarily always the same thing. I went easily through the pits with 6000k in my standard housing once - 3 months later I was defected and had to go over and they wouldn't allow it. I had always thought, for a HID conversion to be legal it requires some sort of self leveling mechanism to prevent blinding other cars. On my previous MR2 I polished up my glass headlights and used some Phillips Diamond Vision bulbs (I think?) and it provided great night viability without expensive of custom parts/fabrication.

Its a pet hate of mine, I really dislike when people go and fit cheap $200 HID kits off ebay they have them aimed all wrong and they drive around behind you and blind the crap out of you. even worse if your in an MR2 as pretty well everybody's headlights aim through your rear window. honestly even factory self leveling ones are annoying when you car is just lower than theirs. but it does help abit.

Il try and make contact, and see if I can't get them to change them so they shoot off to the left so they're more suitable for us, I'll also ask about group buys??
