WA> Beams red top complete
I now have the following up for sale. Engine-inc standard manifolds intake/exhaust........Not sure exactly how many km's on the engine b4 I got it but it is rather clean looking (inside atleast). I have changed oil and filter every 3-5000 km with quality stuff (motul chrono 300v). It hasn't missed a beat and served me very well. Would suit modding or just bolt straight in and off ya go. Harness and ecu, (from grey top) flywheel (from gen 3 turbo i think) Some other random spare bits cant remember $1200 ono Also the conversion engine mount bit for aw11 bolt in, made of billet 4340 I believe. $150....but free if the engine goes into another adub. Just to be sure, its everything needed for a running engine? I may know someone who'd be interested.

Yep accept for just one part of the intake pipe that I am currently using i forgot about, you would also require an exhaust.

Sorry to hi-jack but I did a BEAMS red top conversion on my G-Limited back in 2010 so might be able to answer your question. - Yes it will bolt into an SW20 - You will need to do a few modifications to your body loom to get the engine running. - You will need to get a tach converter to make the tachometer work or buy a BEAMS instrument cluster like what i did or modify your instrument cluster (I think Tree did his) to make it work. My conversion was pretty straight forward because I bought a brand new engine loom from Toyota, and bought a second hand SW20 BEAMS body loom which I slightly modified to get it to work on my G-Limited. Since then I have bought a full BEAMS loom kit for the SW20 (body, cabin, dash and front loom so everything will be OEM. Fantastic price for this engine. My one cost me over $3500 then I had to get it rebuilt

If Gatesys passes up on the engine let me know. I'm getting pretty tempted! Cheers, Adrian

Would using the grey top ecu and harness make the engine run differently from using a red top ecu?

Hi guys sorry have been busy working and stuff the last few days. I havent been able to get any freight quotes as yet but if any one can recommend me some preferred companies I will start from there. Thanks mister_two, yep this is a pretty straight forward bolt it for an sw20, but some mods to the body loom would be required. Im not sure what they are as I have never owned an sw20 but cant be too difficult I would not think. So yes it is running the grey top ecu and wiring harness. Does this restrict power ? I really am not sure but I know that the cruddy grey top exhaust manifold has the cat converter built in to it and when I changed to the proper red top exhaust manifold there was a noticeable power increase and I was still running a cat. There may or may not be a small power gain by using the manual red top ecu but the main ecu plug is different i believe and you would need that wired in. I was going to try this but never got around to it. Some say the engine will produce more torque with the auto ecu compared to more peak hp with the manual ecu, dont know of any concrete evidence but a manual ecu should be fairly easy to come by. You will need your own exhaust, gearbox, flywheel (unless you want to run a gen 3 turbo box) and the intake pipe piece running to the intake manifold (other gen pieces could work as long as the afm is in it), and your own air intake filter setup. I will attempt to upload a pic later

e-go ( www.e-go.com.au) quotes online. Use a small pallet. Input the dimensions (perhaps 1.2m-1.5m cubed?) and guess the weight (200-400kg?). Play with the figures as YMMV and you don't want to be found oversize/overweight if it's not going to cost you more to make the quote conservative. Ensure your delivery address has a fork/pallet lifter/engine crane/dozen hairy men, so someone can shift it when it arrives. Ensure the motor doesn't leak, strap it securely to the pallet and cover in whatever industrial grade glad wrap you have handy. You can deliver/pick-up from depot & save 50% yourself, though you still may need to bring all those blokes with you...

dsultas: No worries. Just out of curiosity is your redtop BEAMS out of a TYPE V (late 1997 - 1999) SW20 G/G-Limited or a ST202 Celica SS-II / SS-III? If it's a genuine SW20 Redtop BEAMS the installation will be easier because the alternator is mounted in the right spot. Regarding modifications to the body loom, it can be done but would require some know-how or perhaps an auto electrician. The other alternative is for the buyer to source a SW20 BEAMS body loom but they are quite hard to find and generally expensive and would still require very minor modifications. I believe the grey top wiring harness won't cause any power differences but as you pointed out the grey top exhaust manifold has an integrated cat which robs approx 20ps. Regarding the ECU, I'm not sure if this is compatible, it may be but I do have a redtop BEAMS ECU available if the potential buyer of your engine wishes to buy. As for the intake, I'm assuming you're referring to the pipe where the sensor plugs into (See my BEAMS build thread for pictures of my engine in the car, sensor near the radiator cap)? http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=17705&high=mister_two%27s&mpage=9 Good luck with the sale, this is such a bargain and a fantastic engine!

Yep good pic, the pipe between the air flow meter (sensor) near radiator cap and the throttle body is the only bit missing. It is out of the sw20 I believe, either way it has been running in my aw11 so the alternator is set up on the correct side. As for the loom compatibility with a manual ecu I know the main plug is different, i doubt there would be too many other differences. Thanks Nick I will check them out I think I have used them before.
