possible work to gen 2 3sgte

g'day all, so after a few long months and a boot load of cash i've finally got my 1990 mr2 back in my hot little hands.
terry at road and track looked after me and i am pretty happy with the work they have done with it, i had my 3sgte 2nd gen fully rebuilt and a second hand gear box thrown in and a long list of things to make it road worthy..

i always had intentions of working the motor as i was under the impression it was 3rd gen but i was informed otherwise by the mechanic i found it pretty funny.
i was after some advice on whether or not it would be smart to do some work to this rebuilt motor i am just unsure if being rebuilt it would make it weaker and more prone to fkng out.. would like 200-250 kw at the wheels, any help appreciated thanks guys

What components did you rebuild it with?

    Forged pistons etc?

Buy a spare motor, build it up slowly on the side, making the $$$ on components hurt less, then swap motors when complete :)

If you're looking for reliability, on a bog standard rebuild, I wouldn't aim for anything more than 200rwkw.

Good idea to have a spare motor on the side, I've heard good things bout the 3rd gen? I'm not sure what pistons he used... On the invoice it just says piston and ring set $300... So yeah I'd say they are new
