we almost got away incident free until the home stretch turning back onto the f3/pacific hiway. how did you go Shamus and Declan get home safe?

Thankfully the strut bolts held all the way home. Thanks to everyone behind me that pulled over!
Shamus i hope you got home without overheating.

Thanks Joel; it was an awesome day and a great run! Looking forward to the next.

Great work Joel!

I'm really looking forward to the next run too, I even cancelled/postponed a snow trip for it, because I love go karting so much.
I may not have my MR2 in time for the next meet, but I'd love to ride shotgun with someone.

There is an extensive build thread for my car here: http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=18316

Great day I did about 540k's. The detour on the way home I worked out was 60k's extra than what it would have been if I'd been able to go through Cessnock.  Ah well it was a nice drive.  The GPS kept telling me to do a U-turn for about 15 minutes, then gave up & told me to keep travelling on that road for 30k's.
Sorry for holding people up in the bendy bits.

Hey all. First of all, a big thank you to Joel and everyone for such an awesome day. I did manage to get home eventually, we ended up going through Galston Rd to dural as there were no lights HOWEVER needed to stop again on the twisties in the gorge. After 15 mins in the dark refilling coolant (massive thanks to Deco, much appreciated) i was able to limp it to castle hill.

I'm glad to hear that the bolts held together Dec.

I didn't see any steam or anything drop out from the car while I was following you. good to hear you got her home though, I figured once you reached hornsby you would just call for a tow if anything went wrong again.

^ ahh, yes, the HFH. You'd have thought someone working on your car would have spotted that one during their works.

Maybe they did and have replaced it, worth checking your receipts for work done.

yeah, true dat.  If it's not one thing, it's the other lol.

To be honest, i need to change the turbo anyway, i'm wondering if i just wait for a but, save some cash and just get them to take the engine out replace the turbo, timing belt, water pump etc and just change it then.
Might save me a bit of trouble
