close ratio gear set

Hi Terry,

Can you obtain a close ratio gear set from a Carlos Sainz GT4? If not do you have something similar

It's for a gen3 box

Regards,
Rory

Thanx Simon - looks like this may be my solution. Do you know anyone who has this set?

lowering the diff ratio isn't going to make the gears closer together.

Flupstar is running the Carlos Sainz set and loves it. They are just very hard to get. I know OS make a set but they are VERY £££

Maybe the c-one is the only option

    Thankyou for the replies

I have just sold my last factory close ratio set. went overseas. I believe the jap kits are no longer available, but by all means, try.

I have had various ratio gears made over the years and it is possible to make up a kit .I have driven most of these versions and its real easy to get it totally wrong and have a disaster.

it will very much depend on what you are tyring to achieve. The race/rally kits were either 4 close packed gears with a HUGE jump to 5th., or 5 close gears with no overdrive at all. In all cases, 1st gear was taller to deal with a lower diff ratio.

email me direct at work if you want to take this any further. thanks
