Castor Adjustment in 94 Gen 3 MR2 Turbo

Hi Road & Track,

I'm looking for a way to adjust castor in my imported 94 MR2 turbo. I believe some of the earlier models allowed for castor adjustment, but mine does not. Research has shown that Tein Tension rods will allow me to adjust castor, although do you know of any other products?

Regards,
Jason C.

i believe whiteline make offset bushs. your rigth on the early models you can wind the threaded rods out or in to your desire. i have a early model and bought cusco front adjustable rods. these suit your car and to fit them i had to change the body brackets to whats fitted factory on your car. any of the aftermarket rods will be made for your car. jic make them, phoenix power make them, tein obviously, kei office as well as many otehrs. perfect run has them at quite good prices as well.

early 92 onwards had non-adjustable caster. oct 93 changed again. we can supply offset bushes. we also have made a few sets of adjustable arms for race use on these later models, but the used Jap ones also come up from time time regularly. be aware, they are not ADR compliant.

Thanks for the useful info guys! My suspension mechanic couldn't find any offset bushes in any of his catalogues.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using offset bushes as opposed to adjustable rods/arms?? How much are each of these from Road & Track??

the offset bushes "feel" less agressive to drive and have more movement over the heim jointed jap type replacement arms. but the adjustable arms can be reset at any time. a offset bush is set and forget.

I just called Whiteline, and they said they do not make/sell anything to enable castor adjustment in the MR2. Hopefully Road & Track have something.

we are working on offset bushes now. they wont give much adjustment and will only be suitable for fixing minor errors from bent rods/mounts etc. To make a radicval change you need custom made caster bars. we make them for race cars.
