I haven't seen the car around before. Here's a link posted by mr2qik that may assist in confirming milage on leaving Japan... http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=82147 Apart from that, there's not much way to prove/disprove k's on a dashboard. The speedo clock takes a few minutes to change, and that may be done for any number of reasons. The seller rates that car very highly! Not too sure what this whole 'limited edition' speil is about, I guess that VW golf is limited edition too, just a high limit...

On another note, there are lots of external shots of the car - many of the same angle but not one of the interior....

When I see a car with 80k on the clock, I just think its due for its 100k major service fairly soon. At 20 years old, kms is only part of the equation. Definitely worth a look, but check it thoroughly.

You could always go to the casino and bet on red or black. Double or nothing! Now, looking at the pic of that engine - is that a sticker on the timing cover showing when the timing belt was changed? It does say belt changed too, why would that be done before 100k? Or is it earlier for turbo? Hey, it comes with 'VIP MR2 Club' membership keyring!!! That allows

So you're sending it over to WA? Theres like 10 SW20 Turbos MR2 for sale in WA? Cant find anything you like more local? From my experience seller can make a vehicle look great in pics, and an absolute basket case in the metal...

The sticker on the timing belt cover is standard. Have the same one on my old MR2.

One of the recent threads had a guy looking for an SW20 in WA. There is surprisingly little around, so I'm not surprised you're considering interstate.
At the very least pay for a mechanic's inspection. If the seller is confident in the condition they'll be happy to have it done, and you get some insurance against a real dodgy car. I've bought interstate several times, but they've been from forums where you can look at the history of the car and the owner, and I've always done the deal in person.
Handing over your money based on an ebay ad only is crazy IMO.
