[NSW] 1990 SW20 - Engineered 1MZ-FE V6

Model :      SW20 G-Limited Targa Top
Year :        1990
Colour :     White, Grey, and Black
Kms :         152,000
Rego:         Engineered, and registered with the 1MZ-FE
                  Registered until July 2013
Location:    Kirribilli, NSW
History:
Imported in 2006, at 78,000km.
1MZ-FE engineered in 2010, at 127,000km.
I bought it at the start of 2012, at 138,000Km.
I have the engineering paperwork, and a folder containing the majority of the receipts, during ownership by myself and the previous owner.
Modifications:

Toyota Avalon 1MZ-FE.
Fidanza aluminium flywheel.
4V6 engine mount.
Walbro 155LPH fuel pump.
Pod filter within aluminium air box.
Apexi Super Megaphone exhaust.
High flow CAT and Custom Y-pipe.
Earls Oil Cooler, installed behind RHS air intake.
Dyno at 128kW, ATW.

16” Enkei RP01; 7" Front, 8" Rear.
Bridgestone RE002; 205/45/16 Front, 225/50/R16 Rear. 13k old, and still have plenty of tread.

KYB ExcelG shock absorbers. 13k old.
Lowered on unknown brand, blue springs.
Cusco Front & Rear Strut braces.

Kouki “Gen 3” tail lights.

Momo 330mm steering wheel.
Basic Pioneer CD tuner.
2 Digital gauges in the pocket below. Left gauge is connected to Water Temp, with the right being intended for Oil Temp.
The Oil temp sensor is there, and the wiring is close by, it just needs to be connected.

Condition: Poor

N/A MR2 S54 gear box, which has met its end. The car cannot be driven, until this is replaced.

Air conditioning compressor is installed, and plumbed up, but not gassed. It also needs to have the A/C button wired to the clutch.

The body work in general really lets the car down.
I was in the process of removing a body kit, and returning the car to standard, but it was never completed.

- The RHS roof, behind the targa, has a large dent.
- Small dent on LHS A-Pillar.
- Missing bump strips.
- The white paint, excepting the bonnet, is in very poor condition.
- Grey front guards / Black front bumper (needs a front lip)

In short, don’t expect too much of the body, as it needs a lot of work!

The interior is missing some trim parts, and needs a new radio surround.

Other info:

The previous owner performed the engine conversion, and had the car engineered.
He did the normal engine swap maintenance, of timing belt, tensioner, seals, hoses, etc.
I bought it from him, at the start of 2012, with the intentions of cleaning it up, but it has only progressed to this stage.

The 1MZ is very smooth, with plenty of torque, and in my opinion, really suits the SW20. The low down torque makes it incredibly easy to drive in traffic, and pull hard out of corners. The incredible sound it makes, cannot be equaled by a 4cyl.
0-100 of 6.1 seconds, according to an Apexi RSM, so about as quick as a stock turbo, I believe. It feels quicker than it is.
The previous owner apparently did a 1.12 at Wakefield, in this car.

I have driven it 13 thousand km, in the past year, with most of that commuting an hour each way, often in heavy traffic.
July 2012, the engine had a minor rebuild by myself, with the heads machined, new head gaskets, and bolts, and replacement of a number of consumables.
Since then, the engine has certainly proven itself very reliable.
On the 46 degree day, earlier this year, when I was unfortunately driving it in the middle of the day, crawling along Parramatta road, it didn’t over heat at all.

I most recently installed a new regulator in the alternator, along with a new battery.

It runs well, but it needs to be towed, on a flat bed truck, due to the gearbox issue.

I no longer have the facilities, or tools, to work on the car, so I'm selling it as is.

Price:    $3000 neg.

Seems like a good buy for someone.
Needs S54 box = pretty cheap
    Rev3 lip = cheapish
    Side trims= cheap
Basic white respray= No idea on price but surely not too bad
    Dents= Fix em when painted
