Don't know about being as slow as piss mate.

I owned one a couple of years back (non supercharged) and I have to say it was one of the funnest cars I have ever owned. The only reason I still don't have it today is that a lady pulled out in front of me from a T section and I smashed into her side and wrote it off. To this day, even though I own a turbo SW20, I still miss that car.

Granted it didn't have the grunt of a supercharger or a turbo to kick it in the ass when you are driving, but it's handling more than made up for it in and around the corners etc. And it's unique look although some would say ugly as hell, beauty is in the eye of the beholder haha.

I don't know why I am telling you this haha. Guess I just had to defend my poor little NA AW11 :)

Previous: 1989 AW11 N/A MR2
Current: 1990 SW20 Turbo MR2

That red one Only bit that looks damaged by sun is roof, boot lid (and spoiler) and engine lid - the sides do not look to bad and should be able to be buffed. I am not a painter, but I would assume depending where you go you could get that done for around $1500 (if you go to a non-insurance affiliated spray painter). The bumper is plastic, I had a similar 'dent' in one of my cars - a heat gun and a gentle massage gets it to close to perfect. Everything looks quite complete; front lights (indicators and foglights) are still original OEM items and still looks like it has the original JDM fenders so unlikely had a major prang. That being said, that bumper has come off at some time and looks to have been painted - but that probably would of been done when faded bonnet was re-done.

Hey guys, I bought the red sdub in question just shy of 3 weeks ago, and I have to say that the condition of the car is amazing, not to mention the interior is near on immaculate,( the only issue being a broken ashtray lid)
The front bumper is faded, as the owner/ importer decided to take off the genuine border item that it had and replaced it with factory which was never re painted, It was ridiculously cheap for the condition it is in, and the motor only has 70K on it clutch and gearbox both now only have 1500 Ks I love this car and it's unlike anything ive ever driven, and I can't wait to get out onto an mr2Aus cruise and meet some of you guys

Nice buy. I think the OP has moved onto another make of car.

Start a showroom thread, cant quite remember the car and would be great to see some progress you make with it. I was seriously contemplating getting it but at the time I had my plate (and garage full) of other MR2s...

I actually have a red bumper here, its going to be repainted - if its a closer match to colour of your car I am sure we can work something out.  Send a PM to discuss further.

Hope to see you on a cruise.

If anyone has any leaky roof problems on either the AW11 or the SW20, then i sell eccentric T-Bar roof guides. I can do a full set of 4 for £24 GBP including postage. They pull the glass tighter onto the rubbers, which often cures the leaking. You can email me direct on 'neilryanjones @ hotmail.com'
Cheers, Neil
