That's such a great story!
Hahaha
Has anyone read the reg's yet?
They are set out so you have lightly modified street cars, heavily modified and circuit cars. As there were very few standard cars, the class was opened up a little.
There will be one regularity session which counts for points instead of two. This is to allow more time for passenger/training sessions.

It's $400 before August, then $450 after that. People who entered last year, will have last years prices until a few weeks before the event.

Well, no time like the present!
The MR2 trackday is not for another 8 months so you have time to plan and get organised. One nights accommodation is included and I can organise another night or two for you. The interstate guys come the day before then leave the morning after so you won't be alone if you stick around for a few days.
Another point of interest is the option to have a day at Marulan Driving Centre the day before the track day.
It more for the interstate guys to enjoy another circuit after making the trek to NSW.

Yes, free guest is the same as 2013. I'm thinking of allowing the guest the opportunity to drive the entrants car during the social sessions. Cost to be confirmed soon but will be about $60 for a few sessions.
Would also like to have more happening with a show and shine. A lot of people enjoy meeting up for a chat and taking pic's. It something I want to see happen at the trackday. If the club members are interested in organising something as part of the trackday, I'm happy to put something together.
With the reg's, the idea is to separate the mild tuned street cars from the higher tuned street cars with Street and Modified Street.

Yes it would a be a great idea to differentiate the mild vs heavy modded street class. Can't make excuses tho anymore haha

It is hard to differentiate the cars even road to track cars sometimes.

True Tree, as there are hardly any stock cars out there, the Street Class will be perfect for a mild modded car.
The difference with heavy modded street and circuit cars was the cage (in 2013) and harness. Its difficult (as Travis said) as some cars are a serious car but without the safety features (thanks to traffic authorities..) which creates a headache for getting people in a fair classification.
That's why the street class must keep the interior and a lot of the factory equipment, so they are not gaining a weight advantage when they already have a power advantage.
The circuit class reg's also have a big hole where a lot of circuit cars are mild with a cage(highlander/Andy/Sweetpete), then you have others which are wild (mine and EVO65). If the event grows into a 40 car field, I will look at changing class structure.
At least with all the varied rounds/discipline, everything evens out over the two days. I'm sure if Sweetpete had just one extra day of prep and no reliability issues, he may well have won the event.
With the regularity in 2014, this will allow anyone to win as it's based on consistency not outright pace.  Even you could have an outright win this one!
