Yeh the oil breather hose might have been loosened a bit to contribute to the rough idle. Misfiring came to mind once or twice but I just never thought this could ever happen to a spark plug as I certainly didn't drop it since it was very smooth pre MTC. Thanks again for fixing my blown radio/cig/clock fuse Rob!

Haha I was just exaggerating about the "banshee" part Shaz, there were lots of giggles and a couple squeals thrown in. Sorry I didn't hear you though the first time you said to call it a session because the subsequent lap was the spin off hehe

Yeh big thanks to Mr. Oh for taking model shots of our cars, a lot of them facebook cover photo worthy hehe

Shaz was also in my car when I did my biggest accidental powerslide.
Lucky she wasn't in my car when I had my huge spin off at about 120km/h when my rear left tyre clipped the dirt going onto the back straight lol.

Shenanigans, it is all about the shenanigans!

It is just nice to have so many characters, whether they make you laugh at what they say, do or them! hahaha wouldn't have it any other way.

As i said to Steve before i put together all my church change for this event "if i don't show up, i know i will be jealous and be kicking myself i stayed here at work instead of thrashing the ass out of my car around a racetrack" And it is true, i would have regretted it for a whole year until the next one!

I have been thinking about the regularity and still think that what Steve wanted to achieve is right.

A little background info for those who did not attend, Steve wanted to have everyone on the track at the same time so that it will give everyone a taste of 'real' door to door racing without the aggressive/competitive nature, therefore removing the possibility of damaging anyone's car. Also the overall timing difference is about 13 sec I remember.

I understand that it sounds daunting for those who have never raced but then this is the closest to competitive racing you will ever get. I believe the whole idea behind Steve ever organising different events over the two days is to take out the repetitiveness of other track days where all you do is go around and around, and he done a great job.

Fortunately I had my first regularity at Wakefield July last year and it was so much more fun than track days. It was a two day event first qualifying, it was really just trying to see what times people are comfortable with and the second day was racing. We had a rolling start in the rain so to avoid collisions and then its 6 hrs of fun (the total hrs for the team of 4 or 5 cars not the hrs any one individual have to run).

Just my 2c

Agreed! Steve had the right idea for this event. I was talking to some people after the regularity as well and we all thought it would have been more fun with everyone on the track together as originally planned. We didn't have too many cars so it would have been safe. The real challenge is trying to keep times consistent whilst dodging slower cars and letting faster cars past. So having to push harder on some corners to make up for time lost elsewhere. With so few cars on the track I didn't really get to experience that this year.

Just to give an example, at the 6 hrs event the fastest was a 1.10 RX7, and in my team there was a 60 or so Robert who drove an Impreza RX with an average time about 1.23 so the spread is about the same also it was raining on and off. There are even more spread of cars from Rick Shaw racing RX7 to Ford Capri and Toranas. The more amazing thing is that Robert but the end he was 2 sec faster. So obviously we didn't win but who cares.
