Between now and the MTC 2014, I'm copying down every lame excuse people are posting in this thread for NOT attending, then will be publishing them into a book called "101 Lame Excuses For Not Attending The Best MR2 Event In The World" .

If you managed to get the slushdub running knightrous, I'd do everything in my power to make this event, so I have direct competition ;) Otherwise we'll just have to see what happens. Engine rebuild will be complete but I can't vouch for what state the transmission will be in.

If I could work on the car at mine I would definitely have it done, not like I can even go down and just work on it over a weekend. 10hrs drive down, 10hrs drive back. there is saturday and sunday, with no time left to get anything done on it. I want to get to the event, but not gonna happen unless I quit my job and win the lotto.

cheers for the offer pete, it not the mechanicals that will be holding it up, it really is the paint job and body repairs, as I need access to a large air compressor and welding equipment. the paint and body will take a solid 3weeks to get done. I only have 3.5week leave available this year, and we are forced to take 3 weeks over xmas. so no spare to go down there to get the work done until xmas. then after the body work is done I can bring the car back up here and refit everything at my pace.

Great to see so much support so early in the program. The people who cannot be there to drive are more than welcome to help make it all happen. Like last year, you will receive a few perks like hot laps in some of the cars. Any feedback on the addition of the regularity? What about the 'state verses state' team events?

I reckon for the interstate challenge, it'd be easier to just look at the average points for each state at the end of the event, rather than doing an actual separate competition.

Regularity - Sounds good to me, basically like dialing in your ETA @ the drags. State VS State - Running points tally over the weekend like Adrian said would probably work easiest. Maybe average the points for each state based on the amount of cars from that state? What about a Relay Race? 3-5 cars per team. Cars start in pit lane (@ the start/finish line), first car launches, and does a lap, as it passes the finish line, the second car can now leave. The first car quickly finishes a cool down lap and stays off the race line (and out of the road) till they can make it back into the pits. Then rinse and repeat till all cars have done their lap, team with the fastest combined time is the winrar. Probably to make it interesting, put 1 car from each class in each team? 1x CCO + 1x MSO + 1x MSU + 1x SO + 1x SU

oooohh tis getting quite interesting. I like the creativity. State and relay will put a lot of competitive pressure on everyone, but all good fun. Should do a turbo vs NA race too hehe

dnegative Do you have to be a club member? Nope :) Steve (B24) runs the event with Wakefield Park, it's not a club organised event.
