Using it in my Evo (10 Tenths Racing), seems good.

I think factory spec is 5W-30 though I also don't see harm in using 10W-40 (its what I use in the evo).  If the weather gets cold, it may be better running 5W-30 though.

If you read up on the oil test thread http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=85239 it came out pretty much on top of all the others and of the reasonably priced, way out in front.

From searching on the net a lot of mr2 owners are using Penrite HPR15 (SAE Grade 15W-60) in the 3SGTE engines.
I had thoughts of using Penrite 10 Racing 15 (SAE 15W-50) and noticed this oil uses PAO and ester where as the HPR15 does not contain PAO and ester.  My 3STGE is standard but is running 16 psi boost.
Which of these two oils would be more suitable for my engine under extreme racing conditions?

Go the 10 Tenths, PAO and ester type oils are more stable at elevated temperatures (break down less).  10 tenths also has high zinc content which is good for wear.

I am using HPR15 15W-60. It is full zinc. I also live in Canberra, but only bought the car in August last year and the oil went in in September. So it has not been started on a very cold morning yet. I figure the thicker oil and full zinc will help to protect an aging engine. I have had no negative issues with it.

Running HPR10 10W-50 in my Canberra car with original engine. Has been through one winter with no problems and no oil leaks.
