error code 41, engine not starting

hey guys,
i am getting error code 41, and an unable to start my motor at the moment. error code 41 relates to the throttle position sensor signal. i have definitely connected the sensor at the throttle body, but i have a feeling there might be something else i have left disconnected. i'm wondering how to troubleshoot this issue.
any help would be great.

I think the car should still start with the tps sensor unplugged.
When you say there might be something you left dissconnected does that mean you have been working in the engine bay?

FYI I have a spare turbo throttlebody with TPS if yours ends up needing replacement.

I've been reinstalling the motor after a timing belt and waterpump change, so there could be a number of issues. I've been following a guide for the whole process, and I'm pretty sure there's nothing obvious I've left disconnected or installed incorrectly.

At the moment, it cranks over and is getting spark through the leads. I'm yet to check the plugs. I think I can hear the fuel pump working, but I'm not sure if the rest of the fuel system is working properly. If anyone knows a good way to test the other electronics etc that would help a lot.

As for the error code, I was mainly wondering if this error would prevent the motor from starting, but if not, I guess I'll have to keep looking for the problem.
    Thanks for the help guys
