Seejays MR2 + progress photos

Haven't owned this baby for very long but I've got a lot of money put away to fix her up.
She was passed down in the family, and lucky enough for me I was the one to get it!
Right now it's not in the best condition, but that was the reason why I wanted it, to fix it up and make it one amazing car.

Some of the problems:
The paint work is worn out a lot, some of it is peeling while the rest is mostly faded.
Small amount of rust right above the back number plate.
The tint is coming off and won't last much longer, especially on the drivers side.
Although you can't see it, the gearbox crunches on second which is due to worn sincros.
The stereo is old and outdated, doesn't play CD's anymore
The rims are getting old and ugly
The drivers seat has a tear (no photos)

I have currently:
Booked in a complete sandback and respray the same colour, which is costing approximately $2,500 for a GOOD job (family friend)
Gotten a quote for a complete gearbox rebuild which came to around $2,850
Booked in the removal of my old window tint, and at the same time, the installation of the octane window tint (costing approximately $500 from tint-a-car)
Ordered my own personalised number plate (which will be revealed with more recent photos)

Any comments or feedback would be great!
Hopefully in the near future I'll have this car all fixed up and looking amazing.

More photos to follow.

Nice to see you taking the care and trouble to restore an old beauty.
    welcome to the club.
are you plannign to keep the car stock, bodywise? if not nows the time to get things right before the respray.
whatever you do please dont put some useless big a$$ chrome wheels on it, do your homework and see what fits properly then make a good decision, wheels make or break a car you want to get it right the first time.
all the best and enjoy working on the car ist very rewarding when it all comes togethere.

    cheers

Be careful, it will become an obsession :-)

I recommend that you store the original wheels if you choose to change.......I have always regretted disposing of the original wheels since changing the wheels after the first year (1995)..........I think I can hear screams of objection from those who would like to purchase the original wheels from you :-)

    Yes it does.
Car is being resprayed very soon, will upload photos once it's done.
Also got my custom number plates which I will upload soon too.

Hey while your getting resprayed why not get a rev3 or rev5 (both the one piece) the rev3's can be found at sensible prices, personally I think the one piece wings looks way better than the dated three piece rev1/2 jobbies.
