So I took my car in for a blue slip today, was all good except I need a certificate because its an imported car. Rang the guy who does it and he said it costs $500. Anyone else had to do this as well? If so how much did you pay?

It shouldn't need a certificate if it has a compliance plate?
Or a certificate to support all the modifications?
Maybe get a second opinion.

That's what I did at the rta and they told me I didn't need it. The idiot who supposably rang them had to ring them again and realise he was wrong.
Although I need an engineering certificate which is $550. Killing the bank haha.

Side mount intercooler, blow off valve, fuel regulator, intake. I'm taking it that would be it.

And yeah, the blue slip cost $56 plus $22 because they had to weigh it.

In Victoria
If the car doesn’t have a compliance plate attached to it, then you need a certificate of compliance from an approved ENGINNER OR MECHANIC
This paperwork has to be given along with a RWC with the car when it is registered . it is also required that the owner pass the papers over to the new owner when the car is sold.
The certificate costs $550 along with any other costs involved ( if the car needs to be complianced like, seatbelts changed, intrusion bars installed etc)
Cheers
