I know we aren't quite vintage yet.......well, maybe some of us are...........but these guys appear to have some interesting events, unique cars and might just be a great day to get us all together to watch some car events???

The VSCC had some great event 10 years or so ago, all cars were welcome.  I participated in some fun events in my first MR2 many moons ago.

After attending some events, many think the vintage refers to the owners, not the cars!!

    Other ideas: go karts?

    Cheers

My idea's.. Ill take a shot since I never been on a cruise. I don't exactly know what certain requirements or preferred places but here it goes.

1st Suggestion -  Follow the coast line? Head through Cottesloe 30+ ish day and head down through fremantle for a stop somewhere (Fish and chip place next to the ocean, forgot the place name). I haven't exactly thought it out perfectly but I know that Fremantle has nice scenery and Cottesloe; I drove down there in my car once I had was stares.

2nd suggestion - I would say a highway cruise into Joondulup and go into the Joondulup Resort (Stops on the way not sure). I been there for a wedding, very nice location and all roads aren't narrow and tight, open highway. I know Chase_D likes to avoid highways and major things but a great look at scenery and nice weather.

Overall: Joondulup might be far for most and may not even have the day to do, I am just thinking nice locations and scenery. I wouldn't want to cruise into Ghetto or urban area's. Clean built up area's and something nice to look at. I think while we have such hot days lately lets try and use them. We all have lovely MR2's ranging from the slightest thing, I don't think most of you (I hope) want to cruise into things like industrial area's and all that.

That's my opinion on a cruise should be about being able to look and scenery enjoy the air and your car and the group for MR2's.  (Might sound fruity) That's how I think of it anyway.

We used to do Toodyay, York and Gin Gin runs years ago, trying to use side roads. Was great fun.

They used to hold a cat display at Gin Gin, could incorporate something like that.

    Cheers

    Hey all...back on the forum.
Last night I met Pete (2mr2s) at the local service station and he reminded me about this forum.
I'd like to meet up with any MR2 owners for a cruise/blast around in the next week or two.
I thought heading up Greenmount,a stop for a bite in Mundaring then hit some country roads from there on would be cool.
Please let me know if you are interested.
    Regards

Cheers for input. Something (although not in the next week or so) is in the pipeline.

Be a bit different, but heading up for a drive up to Two Rocks via the coast. Grabbing lunch on the marina.

MC Motorsports has finally updated their 2013 calender so a day there is definitely going ahead but bare with me on that one as that requires a $600+ outlay BEFORE hand.

Karting is also something I would like to do, obviously bit easier to organize as its a pay-as-you-go sort of thing. Heard a few things of Belmont Karts.

hiya, not much of a drive up to Two Rocks...dead straight Marmion Ave basically.
I'm not looking for "things to do'...I'm talking about driving our MR2s on some cool roads away from traffic kinda out in the countryside so to speak.
You mentioned Toodyay etc...that's what I had in mind.
I'm only available on Sundays...was thinking an informal get together maybe next Sunday(17th or 24th).
Get going about 9:30-10 ish...any one who wants to come post a reply.
I'll be happy to meet up in the Hillarys Marina car park for Nth of the River guys...we can pickup Sth of the River members over near Midland Speed Dome perhaps?
Not trying to setup some kind of epic meeting...just a nice buzz around in the cars if you are up for it.
    regards

    Great idea!
If you want, you can start another thread up in the WA board feel free.

Know of a few people that would be keen for a drive.
I to am usually only available on Sundays. I do my best to try and make one SOR and the next NOR and so on.

There are definitely some nice roads here, wish you had come to the last one. http://www.mr2australia.c./mr2play/tm.aspx?m=85849

Being as few as we are on here, it might be difficult to get the numbers for any event that involves payment.
However, I know the owner of Kart World in Belmont, so I'd be happy to get something going there.

I'm also up for a drive, especially to somewhere like York or Toodyay for lunch and a walk around town.

As something completely social I'd be happy to organise a BBQ/Movie night at my business workshop. There's plenty of parking, plenty of space and I have a projector and screen.
I also have a hoist, so we could put an MR2 up on it and have a look underneath and around it as a sort of learning experience...

I'm up for a drive to York, actually almost anywhere. You guys plan it and I'll try my best to be there.

Also I'm quite a fan of Jay's idea, nothing like a BBQ. We could've done it last cruise on one of our stop offs too.

So one more cruise down, I enjoyed it - hope everyone else did?
    Any points to improve on?
It was tossed around to have a SOR and NOR meet points by one or more people, to be honest I can't see that happening - not for the small numbers we coming in attendance.

So for next Cruise I am thinking of something similar to last one.

Has anyone spent much time in York?
Looking for places to stop and have a bite to eat around there.

Thinking start pretty central in West Perth - head out through there stopping at Midvale, up throught Chidlow and having lunch in York.

Bugatti Cafe in York is good.
There is also the Motor Museum, and a decent lookout about 5km out of town.
York is my favourite country town. :)
