Handbrake

I noticed one side is different to the other with my handbrake, which would explain it being loose. Just want to make sure it isn't normal.

Normal looking side -

Not so normal looking side -

I know it's missing a sir clip which I have put on, but didn't make a difference.

Cable broken? Does the handbrake hold the car ok?
If not, it may only need adjustment at the junction under the fuel tank in the middle of the car.
BTW each SW20 cable is the same length on each side, and only the guide brackets are different. Is the guide bracket bent causing the cable to not line up properly on that side?

No it doesn't work 100%. Don't look bent to me. So it's ment to be how it is in the photos, different on both sides? Might have to adjust it.

Just to be clear I was not talking about the brackets on the actual caliper.
I meant cable guide brackets are different L and R, and they are not shown in your pic. There are 4 of them on my car and they line up the cable as it goes to the caliper.

Those brackets may have been fitted wrong or damaged or missing, causing that sharp cable bend that is obviously not good.

I had to 'modify' one of those brackets on my own car so that the cable sat a bit straighter, but mine wasn't as bad as yours.

Yeah I will have to bend the bracket or something. Thanks.
