Anyone driven the Norwell circuit?

G'day,

Has anyone driven the Norwell driver training centre circuit?

http://www.thedrivingcent...73%20Circuit%20Map.pdf

I'm on the Stokell mailing list and noticed he's now doing track day training events at the Norwell Driver Training Centre track (1/2 day $250).  I went to one of his training days at Morgan Park a few years back and was thoroughly impressed with the setup and the 1on1 telemetry backed training / advice for the experienced drivers.  I am keen to know if anyone has driven the track and if it is any good compared to Lakeside or Morgan Park, ie. worth the Stokell event cost.

Alternative would Norwell be a potential low cost contender for a MR2OC Qld club track & skidpan event?

I saw a couple of AW11s running at the last Hardtuned trackday at Norwell. They had skidpan and track running for the full day. If you Youtube - Hardtuned MR2 - there is an onboard of one of the guys.

Cheers for the feedback.  I'll keep an eye out for cheaper events at Norwell organised by other associations.

Judging by a couple of the other threads here in the Qld section, the start of 2013 already has a couple of track related events worth adding to the calendar.

I did a driver training day at Norwell with the MR2 club back about 10 years ago in my AW11.  Its a fun track but quite small and technical.  I don't think in stock engined AW got much over 100klm. (from memory).
Is is a good track but has some close dirt embankments which I thought was odd. but very small compared to lakeside and completely flat from memory.
    Hope this helps.

It would be great if we could arrange a club run there and then we may have a number of cars to make it on the day - I would be in definately

The next Hardtuned day is on 3rd March. I will probably be there. Was talking to the guy organising it and we can have our own MR2 group if we get 6 cars. Let me know if anyone else is keen. Can see info at Hardtunedstore.com

Tough decision, both the Hardturned & Stokell events are the same price...

Stokell: 4hr day, min 4x15min sessions, 2:1 instructor ratio,  $25 extra for a 15min skidpan session
    http://drivingevents.com....rack-and-training-days

Hardtuned: "full day", up to 60 entrants with instructors available, skidpan available all day, sounds like a ricer event with its full sik DJ yo!
    http://www.hardtunedstore...uned-private-track-day

How much track time can one expect at Hardtuned? I'd be banking on people's stamina not lasting the full day and getting in on some back to back sessions in the afternoon while people chill out in the DJ tent.

At this stage I'm leaning towards the April Stokell session because it's a known quantity for me, and two driving weekends in a row is pushing the friendship with the wife and kids.

I received an email from an old work colleague that the MGCCQ is running a Sprint event at Norwell this Saturday.  I tried having a poke around the MGCCQ website for a calendar of the non hillclimb events this year but couldn't find any info, everything listed in 2012 events.

After a bit more research the MGCCQ could offer cheaper priced track days about the place for those with a CAMS licence.
