Cold Starter Sensor broken?

Hey, was just going through some old receipts from previous owner and found a note that suggests my cold starter sensor is broken.
What would be the symptoms, or is that easy to test & fix?
There are no error codes showing, but the car does idle high even when warm, and it's pretty thirsty (that may have been the dirty AFM though)

The note must be referring to the cold start time switch which is located on the coolant neck (along with the ecu coolant sensor and dash temperture sensor)
I have a spare used one if yours turns out to be faulty.
I think the time switch simply activates the cold start injector based on coolant temp. If it was faulty (thinking the coolant is always cold) then the cold start injector would be operating all the time.
You could unplug the electrical connector on the cold start injector and see if it makes a difference?

Be careful not to break the plastic connector on these if you are replacing them.
I got this pic from the forum that shows their location.

Hmm, not noticed much change (other than it struggles to start cold of course). Had noticed since purchase though that my radiator fan always stays on, and it takes quite some time to show a decent temp on the guage (at which point the cooling fan warning light comes on).
Took the car for a run, then removed the rad fan fuse and hey presto, idles down to a nice 800 or so. Reckon I'll give it a run down to Wakefield with the fan off and see how my economy goes.
So fans staying on, high idle, smelly fumes and poor economy - any ideas??

Fans staying on can be wiring unpluged from rad temp sensor (drivers side on radiator at front) or temp sensor itself, air con sensors / ecus and sticking relays.
