Paint Chip Repair and where to buy paint

Hey Guys,

So I have a few nasty chips in the front of my 1990 SW20, looking to get them repaired ASAP as a couple are down the metal. I have found my colour code for the SW20, just wondering what people have done for chip repair, what works the best and where they got their paint from?

Cheers,
Graham

i use a tiny brush to apply self etching metal primer (if down to metal) to fill the 'hole' a bit then do 2 coats of paint out of a can (spray a bit into the lid), I've got holts dupli-color I think from supercheap auto.

There's an autopro near me that if you take your colour code to them they can duplicate your colour for you and make you up some paint, I'm sure there's other places like this or go to repco/autobarn/super cheap and see if they have your code in shelf.

I have used a sharpened match to carefully apply a small blob of paint to fill the hole.
It will work best is the paint viscosity is just right, so it may help to have some lacquer thinner handy.
Maybe practice first on a spot that is not too prominent.
