C Jay's - Epic Fail to Winner?? F*** I hope so...it's been too long!

For my 100th post I thought I would do something special...

Some of you may know that I bought an 1991 MR2 Non-Turbo back in 2006.  The seller crashed it pretty badly, the sway bar wasn't even attached to the car and the paint on the front bumper didn't match the rest of the car.  But this is what it looked like...

After a bit of driving around, the power bug got to me and I decided it was time to get rid of the 3sge and upgrade to the 3sgte.  It was a little more than I bargained for and I ended up spending a bit more than what I had. Never the less, the car had its new heart but due to my not understanding how paint worked and asking a friend who didn't know either to help out...the car turned into this...

"Hamburglar on roids i believe was a quote"
FAIL...but it did have the 3sgte in there.

Fast-forward 6 years, I finished my degree, bought a house and we have what it looks like today...

Where is it now you may ask?  Well, as we speak it is being prepped for painting so it will finally look the way I have always wanted it.

What I have done so far...

- Lowered and car sits about 100mm all around
Varrstoen 2.2.1

Interior:
- I swear the seats used to be there...

- Retriming the cloth seats with black leather and perforating the middle of the seats. The door inserts will be perforated as well.
- I have 6 Prosport gauges as well.  3 on the a-pillar and 3 in the centre console.(I will add these photos when the car is finished)
                  - Oil pressure, oil temp, boost, AFR, Water temp, Fuel pressure
- 300km electronic speedo (thanks Dyl)

- Walbro 255L
- Wolfkatz TFFR
- 880cc Delphi Injectors
- Sard FPR

*soon to have 600hp A2W kit from http://www.frozenboost.co...834428074505b18c4baabc
- using the type 3 cooler
- 118 heat exchanger
- bosch water pump
- frozen boost reservior

For the moment that is it, nothing can really be done until the Greddy skirts arrive and they are on a ship at the moment but should hopefully be here by the 20th.  (I've been waiting for these since 6th September - long story on this) Completion date is sometime in January but I will keep posting photos if there is enough interest.

Feedback welcome, colour change however...."top secret."
You'll just have to wait for that.  I can promise it will blow some minds though, it has not been done anywhere to my knowledge.

Fark....Not mucking around with those rims. Good progress. Think a Toms or stock rear would look better though.

I was hoping you'd like the rims.

I do have a stock bar and I bought its because I thought that same thing. But talking to the guy who is doing the work, he thinks he can play around a little more with the veilside bar than the stockie. He wants to take it out a little wider so stones don't chip away the paint and its not so obvious how obscene the width of the rim is. Once the sideskirts get to me I can try both and see which is better.

Yeah, they're nice & aggressive. Prolly too much for most to handle, but good to see you're going hard. If he widens the rear bar, maybe try get him to remove some of the excessive curves from the lower corner sections. Will make it look less "veilside" IMO.

    19/12/2012:

I got a phone call today to go and pick something I ordered up...

If anyone that remembers  that big floormat cock up a couple of years ago, I found the place and got some of my own made. $80 but good quality and I am pretty happy with the result.  The MR2 logo is in silver and the foot rest has the Toyota Logo on it. (I didnt ask for it but I think it still looks good)

I have also added what my centre panel now looks like.  It is actual carbon fibre and is from CarBenFibre Creations and they are 52mm gauge holes. He does everything in the interior in a carbon fibre overlay.  2 problems tho...

1 it is a bit pricey,
2 he is in the UK so its the reason its so pricey.

The speedo is from Dyl and the backing is silver too. Enjoy!

Also...how much do you think the washer jets for the front bonnet are? From Toyota may I add...

    $27.50...each! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I bought the same carbon three gauge holder from the UK as well, then realised my gauges are 60mm

What brand gauges did you end up with?

    Still waiting on the sidskirts....however.

    Yesterdays efforts:

Where the hoses to and from the heat exchanger now go.  Drilled and dremmeled the hole.  Has clearance from headlight too.

Pump will be mounted about where it is now.  Need to shorten the hose leading to the back of the car.

Today's mission mounting this into the old intercooler location. The fan shroud that I had for the Greddy cooler is a perfect fit for this.

I also picked up an OEM crash bar.  I didnt have one, so hopefully mounting the Heat Exchanger will be simple now. One of the mounting tabs I got was broken, so had to use the cable tie.  Wont see it under the front bar though.
