AUU11 - 1985 MR2 mk1a

I might as well make a thread on this new forum, my old showroom thread had some sketchy details on an ambitious MZW16 project which is now defunct.  My AW11 is finally back on the road after 3yrs of gathering geko crap, the ECU shat itself on the way down to the 2009 MR2 Nationals in Bathurst, I made it as far as Stanthorpe.

AUU11 - 1985 Toyota MR2 mk1a (JDM)
Purchased June/July 2008 - fairly stock but tardy condition with 17" wheels, smallport 4A-GE, koni yellows on the rear and unknown springs

Present Condition - minor mods but still fairly stock
Engine: 4A-GE smallport running a bigport ECU with hacked up loom + modified smallport dizzy
Gearbox: stock C52, open diff and crunching downshift into 2nd, 3rd and Reverse
Suspension: mk1b rear suspension, koni yellow strut inserts with Eibach springs, stock front swaybar, no rear bar, a few bits and pieces form twosrus and a mix of poly and rubber bushings (used to be all poly until i swapped the rear over)
Brakes: ST185 twinpot front callipers with corolla rotors, SW20 gen3 (22V) callipers with Clio 1.8L rotors, stock master cylinder
Wheels: 15" 5spoke wheels (+ a set of 15x6" Watanabe's with Toyo semislicks for track days)
Body: faded twotone green/silver paint, missing c-pillar trim and eye lashes, rust spots, generally poor condition inside and out

Future plans - next 12-24mths as funds, time and family permit
Engine: megasquirt ECU (probably a DIY plug&play at this stage)
Gearbox: rebuild a spare and throw in an LSD if I can find a cheap one amongst the rocking-horse ****
Suspension: Rear swaybar (whiteline?), F&R strut braces, rebuild the slack steering rack
Brakes: SW20 Gen3 master cylinder, sort out the spacing of the rotors so they don't rub and squeak
Wheels: replace the old semi-slicks
Body: do what I can on the cheap, maybe aircon

Wish List - obviously my old ~ $15k MZW16 project, but short of a money tree...
rebuilt N/A high rpm 4AGE, 20V or even 7/9A block with 4A head
a decent exhaust that doesn't drone at 3-4krpm and cause my ears to ring for hours after driving the car
Indash LCD touchscreen from a laptop or tablet to replace the stero - monitor / tune the ECU, provide GPS and music
helical LSD
roll cage
quaife 2.5 turn steering rack & pinion gear kit
body mods - flat undertray, front bonnet cut-out / scoop (same as Knightrous / twobrutal), rear engine bay lid over the C-Pillar void (think F40), move the fuel cap and add a 2nd air vent on the LHS
alloy CNC front calipers
respray to original colour, new front bumper, replacement pinstripes

This is enough procrastination and pipe dreams for one evening, I'll throw some photos into the 2nd post another day.

Go soothingly on the grease mud as there lurks a skid demon.
