Apexi auto timer (Added photo)

So I took the alarm out from under the dash as its useless and one of the wires for the auto timer was attached to it. So I figured out where it went and it was working fine with the test wire, but then when I soldered and spliced the wire the auto timer will only stay on for one second before turning off as I turn the key. Anyone have any idea on what the go is?

I figured it out, it's the little button that gets pushed in when the key is in underneath the ignition barrel. Auto timer worked fine once I took it off apart from it not turning off. Don't know why or how to fix it though?
