Sw20 gen 4 hesitation
Okay so here's the deal.. I've got a jdm sdub with gen4 st205 conversion. Everything is stock besides cat back exhaust.
Drove and operated fine for over a year, took it to eastern creek 3 weeks ago, couple days after that it started playing up.
When cold start it would start then idle hunts and wants to stall unless you give it a little gas.
When driving if its on light throttle like cruising, it would hesitate and sputter but if I put my foot down i can hear the suction and see boost climb then it would suddenly go back to normal and the car would suddenly jump because of the boost build up.
Happens in every gear as long as it's light throttle. If I drive it hard it's fine but I can't constantly do that otherwise I'd end up hitting someone's rear end.
So to sum it up it idle hunts and sputters whilst idling and when driven it hesitates and sputters when NOT on boost.
I've had a quick look at work for vacuum leaks but it seems fine cause I've sprayed carby cleaner around and it didn't change anything. I haven't done plugs in bout 6 months, the same goes for fuel filter. I don't think it's ignition related cause when snap revved its all good. Im not ruling anything out so please give me your honest opinion. Oh and I'm not too sure what fuel pump it's running but I think it's most likely the gen2 3sgte.
P.S the car ran 13.1sec with almost bold tires and an S54 box.
