Graham, where's your spirit of adventure? Forecast for tomorrow in the area where we are going is a 10 to 20% chance of 5 to 10mm of rain so we shouldn't be worried. After all, if you want to test whether or not the Targa leaks then what better way to do it. You can also think of it as a low quality pressure wash. The Run Manager and I were caught up in the big storm in West End this morning at about 10.50am and it was interesting to see the low-lying roads near the river flooding again due to blocked drains. However, this didn't stop the truckies and some other totally careless car drivers who were just barrelling along throwing up massive bow waves on Montague Road. One poor Mazda 3 driver came to a sudden stop with water half way up the side of the driver's door, but the hazard flashers still worked. Obviously designed to warn fellow motorists that the car was submerging and to stand clear. A Citroen driver just decided to stop in the middle of Montague Road rather than proceed slowly. Sort of like the French in World War One. This made him an obvious target for the truck drivers coming through the water the other way, with a competitiongoing on to see how much water they could get over the top of the car. People just started crossing the road and driving around the Citroen, which created more havoc. The shop we were going to had to close because it had 10cms of water rushing through it, but despite the electrical hazard and slippery floor there were people who were really upset with the stote owner for not serving them. This is with him standing over the cash registers with an umbrella. Thank fully none of this chaos will ensue tomorrow as it will be dry and we will have a great day. GrahamHeadley
I think it's going to be a wet one tomorrow!

Elliot, this sounds a bit fishy to me. Are you sure you haven't become a closet MX5 owner? Hope you can make it. I have sent you a PM with the Run Sheet. Ddubtoille

Just realised that before we cross the border I will have to change drivers with my mate, as otherwise I will be limited to 80km/h and fall behind (NSW speed restrictions for L platers) :((
is it possible to make a stop before we cross?

Eric, no problems at all and happy to accommodate this. Just remind me in the morning when we met (for the first time). Walter Eric

EVERYONE - apologies for a mistake on the Run Sheet. I was just doing a final check of the weather (which is going to be FINE!!) and printing out some extra copies of the Run Sheet, and I discovered that I had a Page 4 which didn't make sense. Unfortunately the Cut and Paste Fairy didn't do their job, and I hadn't removed a page from a previous Run. So - please discard page 4 and don't be concerned that we are suddenly going somewhere else after we complete the Run into the Tweed area. The Run Manager will have some copies of the Run Sheet available at the start point in the morning. The Cut and Paste Fairy will not get their bonus this year. FYI also - "ptsteve 93" is driving down from Kingaroy tonight and staying in our guest quarters - I have take down the sign saying "Fido" and put up a "Welcome MR2 Owner" one - and he reports that although Togoolawah was very wet the road through Fernvale is good. It seems these storms are moving through at quite a pace so we're looking forward to a great Run tomorrow. See you at the Start Point for a 9.30sharp departure.

I reckon that was one of the best Club cruises we've held. Great roads and good turn up. Thanks Kathy & Walter for searching out roads and writing up the "easy to follow" run sheets (Grant is a true male; he doesn't need directions!! hehehe). Hogan Road was brilliant ending to the day. I made it home just in time. Had only put the car in garage about 2 minutes before heavens opened up and hail the size of ice cubes pelted down for about 10 minutes. I hope everyone made it home safe and sound and didn't get caught by storm/hail. cheers Steve
