Darius - I've PM'd you to ask about quality and fittment, I currently have a border front bar but fitment and quality of the fiberglass is not very good, this is why I was leaning towards a second hand front border bar that has already been fitted.

If you are in sydney welcome to come to one of our monthly meets or drives to check out the quality and fitment of the bar. (there is one this saturday) My build thread is in the showroom page someone should give you a decent look at the bar. Otherwise, i can liase with the guys at motorkitz to show you the quality before purchasing. This will be about 3 weeks though.

No border front bar that I know of would be a direct fit, they are all off in measurements and require a lot of work. My border front bar took me a whole week of cutting and fiberglassing to make it fit like factory, The guy I sold it to actually has it for sale on here, search the for sale thread as it would be a direct bolt on.

My border bar was a direct fit, no changes required and bolted straight according to my panel beater/spray painter. Tom's side skirts again direct bolt on, no changes required Having said that, my Tom's Rear bar was a complete w*nk. Ordered 2 of them, both didn't fit, there was alot of cutting and moulding involved to get it on correctly. Border side skirts for a member here also too short from memory they were refunded. There old moulds and newer moulds, just depends on when they replace the mould for kit you want. Quality of the fibreglass etc. Again you pay for what you get. If you want perfect fitment go out and spend 3 times as much.

If Darius can get a bar that bolts straight up then I would get it, save the headache. Actually my border side skirts where about 2 inches to short, I didn't use them. From my own experience - cheap ones are a pain in the ass, I only paid about $550 for my border kit so maybe it was a cheap one.

as with any replica kit, there are no guarantees. Personally i'd go with the 2nd hand kit by 3sgeTurbo, at least you know it fits but you need to happy with the quality of course.

Darius - No sorry I didn't get your PM, seeing the bar in-person would be good if they are in Melbourne also, I am prepared to do some basic fitment work, drilling holes/fitting mounts etc however I wanted to avoid using filler, I had my front bar looking perfect and then 6 months after painting it starts getting cracks though the filler, that's why I’ve decided there must be too much flex in the fiberglass components so I'm really looking for a nice flat moulded front bar that just needs priming and blocking back before paint not extensive repairs, I've had success with small applications of filler in "non- flexing" areas however larger use of filler to cover up dodgy moulding seems to always crack. Senor_2 - PM sent, thank you.

in the 7yrs or more i've had my front bar, its never done any of that. I've repaired it onces due to a mates driving incorrectly over a high speed hump. You can see that in the repair photos.
