Sidewall cut
Hi Everyone, Been a while since i've posted, hope everyone is doing good + their mr2's of course lol Story goes, went to get new front tyres then a wheel alignment at a different place. The guy spotted the below on one of my inner rear tyres. He told me just to be careful on it not to drive at high speeds. Initially i thought sht, i better get that replaced but on closer inspection the split hasnt reached the inner tyre + its a low profile tyre so should have strong sidewalls still? Think i can save cash and drive on it for another few months if i don't drive aggressively? What could have cause it? Cheers

Is it worth risking your life and/or your car for? Get a new tyre! That's not at all safe or smart to drive on.

The only thing that tyre is good for now is growing potatoes in.

Yeah, thought that would be the general consensus lol. Cheers guys. More money into the Mr2, a never ending story lol.
Any idea what could have caused such damage?
My thoughts are over inflation as I got a puncture fixed on that type recently.

Ditch it dude. Just a part of owning a car. You don't want to be a cross on the side of the highway over $200.

Definitely get don't risk it for the sake of saving $200. You can get a second hand tyre, or even a budget performance tyre for pretty cheap these days

yeah thats true, all came down the the first reply "Is it worth risking your life and/or your car for?" Bad thing is i thought about my car first and the heartache of what damage could be made to it + the repair bill haha. Just trying to research now if 245/40/17 will fit on my rears without scrubbing. Not much range in the 235/40/17. Most cases will fit without scrubbing but i'm putting that on a 8" + 38 offset wide rim which would make it a bit bigger i suppose. Goardaen's wheel says it will be ok, not much difference in size but my car is dropped on trd springs. Research continues.....
