Another newbie in Western Australia looking for a mr2 turbo..
Hi Guys and Girls New to the forum and I am on the hunt for a new weekend toy (mr2 turbo hehehe). Would like to get a early 1990 one (just because older and possibly cheaper) and would like a yellow or blue one... Can anyone clarify roughly what I should be paying for a stock one or minimal mods in either colour and saying 1990 model and what my chances of finding in colour in wa?? Thanks in advance and I look forward to any replys :)

As for how much you should be paying...(to me) that is like asking how long is a piece of string....there is no one right/true answer. Anywhere between $5000 - $9500 seems to be the norm. Expect to the odd one below that may need some work.

Just_ace on here I am pretty sure has a factory spoiler in white he will sell (if he still has it). AFAIK that car was orignally yellow and has a preofessional respray to the blue.Has some nice goodies installed on it too if I remember right (big brake kit, aftermarket ecu, decent exhaust) My turbo has 20,000 less km then on yellow one and seems to be alright mechanically (apart from some worn bushes and joints). If well maintained you should be good. Would advise getting some sort of pre-purchase check on it before hand though I think WTF Auto ( http://www.wtfauto.com.au) offers that for a small fee.

2 seater guy's mr2 has also had the WTFauto treatment. chassis wise there is nothing different from turbo-NA of their respective revisions.

Yeah dont get me wrong I dont mind the fact it has had a turbo conversion, But I prefer to buy a car how it came out of the factory.. For example buying a impreza rx with wrx conversion... I just cant do it!! That gen 3 is sweet but I would have to sell my daily driver to be able to afford it (thats a 2009 peugeot 207 gti turbo) and I am still enjoying that, usues naff all fuel yet is pushing out 220bhp :)

Turbo MR2 can be very economical, used to average just under 10litres/100km on mine around town. Cheers
