/\ that car should have made a lot more power (220kw ish, only guessing) but had some issues with vaccum leaks and some bov issues. there were a few cars that suprised the owners in a good way and a fair few cars with dissapointing power figures. lets hope the guys who had issues can sort out the issues and be back to full power soon.

Tree I think the results are going to be published in the mag Correct. All owners participating will get a copy sent to them in a week or so.

I was a bit disappointed with our figures we were getting especially after my brothers wrx pulled 196kw :/
All i do is debate with him mr2 v wrx and he comes with almost standard car and pulls more than all mr2 did all day with lots more work...
Shoot me. Now i gotta listen to his crap.

KWs aren't everything, whats the power to weight ratio? There are cars here doing over 300rwkws, and seriously? compare looks of a WRX to a MR2....... which would u prefer?

^couldn't agree more, im making 167rwkw on stock ct26 @13psi and it puts a big smile on my face evrytime. my mate's pulling 227rwkw on 57 trim ct26 @17 psi and that made my blood jump out of my skin. perfect power for the streets for me. 250rwkw on a duece would be heaps of fun and more than enough to outrun anyone in the streets.

There were two SW20's that normally make 220rwkw and 230rwkw's but both cars failed to perform due to one thing or another. Which is why i said to Steve that he should have put his car on the dyno anyway when he told me "i already know what it makes" Didn't see any ghosts Tree, but i did see a big white cloud in Kensington, and a Harlequin painted SW20 in a side street. 1 thing to remember is that a dyno day is about having some fun, hearing some engines being given a hard time and chatting with everyone. Although my car made 345.1 rwkw i wouldnt have cared if it made less, i would just be happy to see how the engine/car is going. Cars don't stay at the same power level forever. I was actually really excited to see what Troy's genuine jap spec Altezza was making so i can see what the little E30 can make.

"1 thing to remember is that a dyno day is about having some fun" I agree I really wanted to bring my track car down to see what kind of power it makes but it got a water leak in the hard line to the turbo and the new line didn't arrive in time. Instead when there I decided to run my daily stock Z4 Coupe just for the fun of it, ended up making 156.5RWKW's. I was speaking to the owner of a Nismo s-tune R34 GTR and he was telling me how his run his track evo and R34 on heaps of different dyno's in sydney and melbourne where there reading came out higher but believes the chasers dyno to be accurate. I think a few owners there were suprised with the readings comming out lower then expected.

The dyno was run in shootout mode, which is something i like about the dyno dynamics product as it means the operator cannot play with the dyno to make higher readings (means whether you are in qld or vic it will read as close to each as other as you can get) Shootout mode was designed for dyno competitions such as Summernats and the like. Shame you could not bring your track car, Eckers could not bring his either so he ran his wifes MX5 for a laugh. It made more then we thought it would so she was happy!

Which one do i prefer? silly question :) I still wont hide the fact that i was disappointed. My old s15 made 226kw on 19psi with pretty much same mods that few ran on the day and they only managed 180kw approximately. Dont misunderstand me, i love these cars but shouldnt they be at least on 200? Surely sr20 doesnt make power easier/better? Both 2L engines.. So that was a bit of a downer. Anyone has an explanation for that? (been wondering) I know the power to weight is in our favour whoich is a big plus.

The wrx made 216 kw in syd. Here he made 196 kw. Feels more like 196 on the streets :)
