FT86 insurance - has anyone priced it yet???

FT86 insurance - has anyone priced it yet???.....

So, the other day I spoke to a woman who was about to turn 40, she was on her red P's,

the insurance cost for her (with perfect driving record - not she'd had a licence long) but female, over 35...

$2400

My god.

    In Syd tho?
Sydneysiders get slammed for insurance on the 86...
I was quoted here in SA about $5-600! I'm not even close to 40 either (or a woman)  lol
BTW: cheaper than an MR2 turbo too :/

That's just a silly quote. Although I've found recently that woman are more expensive to insure than men.

Yeah, that's probably right Jay.    Actually everything to do with women usually turns out to be pretty expensive...

Did she say who she was with? Yeah P plater I'd say would have a lot to do with such a high quote, regardless of gender/age. Also depends what suburb she lived in, did she just do an online quote or ring up, try and find the best quote, etc.

Having said that, considering the price and appeal, I'm not expecting it to be cheap if I bought one :/

Those prices seem OK. I bought a 200SX GT new in 2001 and I was in my 30's with a good record, car garaged etc and the best I could do was $1900. Most companies wouldn't insure it at all or quote stupid prices like $4000 or $5000.
Subsequently, it was stolen from the dealer's workshop, Ryde Nissan, when it was getting it's 1000km "wash". I never received an apology from them.
They gave me a courtesy car for 2 days then called me up asking for it back. I told them they could have it back when they gave my car back. Farkers!
